It is a tiny part of the Filipino clothing culture but nevertheless, a very significant, colorful, and bright part. Singkil princess garb is Muslim royalty clothing originating from the Filipino province Lanao del Sur on Mindanao island.. This Maranao Princess costume masterpiece is made from silk and cotton. The garments are ornate, decorated with metallic threads embroidery, sequins, pearls, and long beads and also has intricate jewelry, like bangles and etc. Her headdress is a work of art. It is made of silk and brass, decorated with tassels and dangling beads. The hand masterpiece jeweled umbrella is inspired of the muslim mosque as a drama to complete the royal princess singkil garb She perform the singkil dance... a dance originating from Lanao del Sur,Mindanao is said to be a dance of Muslim royalty. Legend has it that Singkil originated from the day the diwatas (some from of nymph or fairy) played a joke on Princes Gandingan as she was taking a walk in the woods.
