Is there anything that makes them far angrier than it should?
When something is tied tightly, and she can't untie it within a few tries, Mar gets unreasonably frustrated and angry and more often than not just tears open whatever it was that was held together.
If they had to pick a single word to describe this year so far, what would it be? Do they have something special that picks them up when they feel down? What is it? Do they consider telling white lies to be okay? What have they been thinking about lately that has kept them up at night?
If Mar had to pick one word for this year it would be optimistic. She's back on her feet again and going back to her teaching career and exploring new activities and hobbies and that's very much looking up for her. When she feels down, what usually picks her back up is food that her mother would cook for her growing up, especially kunafa which is a sweet pastry. There's been more than one occasion when her mother would actually take the train all the way out to Philly to bring some freshly made to Mar. White lies are okay in her book if they are done to spare another person's feelings. Lately, Mar's been thinking about Jane a lot and all the life she had ahead of her, and about her ex-boyfriend and if he still hates her for calling things off with no explanation.
What’s their opinion on naps?
Quite frankly, Mar associates naps with feeling ill and weak. When she was in treatment, her naps were often not restful and broken up by waves of pain or nausea. So now that she's gotten a clean bill of health, Mar avoids taking them unless strictly necessary.
Random Character Development Questions
If they had to pick a single word to describe this year so far, what would it be? Do they have something special that picks them up when they feel down? What is it? What’s the biggest wager they’ve ever made? What is the last thing that they totally overreacted to? What’s their opinion on naps? What do they find they spend a lot of time wondering about? What smell always brings back some type of memory? Do they have a bucket list? What are they currently juggling in their life? How difficult is it for them to try new things? What’s something that they believe that most other people don’t? Where was their secret hiding place as a child? What do they remember most about their first crush? Do they consider telling white lies to be okay? Is there anything that makes them far angrier than it should? What have they been thinking about lately that has kept them up at night? What is something that will instantly annoy them? What’s their plan for surviving a zombie invasion? What do they consider the best decision they’ve made thus far in their life? What’s most important to them about their work environment? What’s something that they never seem to get tired of doing? What’s their “famous person” story?

"Wow, those girl scouts must have seen you coming." Lucky tried not to laugh, though it was difficult considering not a week prior he had seen his aunt post a desperate plea on Facebook about the girls scout cookie shortage and how it had direct links to whatever conspiracy was holding her attention that month.
"I mean, if you really don't want them I'd gladly take some thin mints off your hands. I don't have anything to offer you though, unless you're really hankering for half a pack of gum."
"I may or may not have been suckered into it by some of the kids in my class. I always try to help them out if they're fundraising, and they totally knew I have a weakness for sweets. They're just so cute, I couldn't say no to them, you know what I mean?" Additionally, Mar had missed so much time from her class this year due to doctor appointments and tests and scans that she felt the need to show her support in order to compensate, but that was a bit much to share. "Oh, the thin mints are all yours," she replied, pulling two boxes out of her bag and holding them outstretched for him to take. "And.... I'll be honest, I'll pass on the gum," she added with a laugh. "These would have gone to waste anyway so you're really just doing me a favor."
"Thin mints aren't my favorite. What else do you have?" She understands that the others weren't offered but maybe she could take one of each because it looked like she'd sold the whole girl scout cookie stand out. "I personally don't like them because they're actually little shits. I don't believe for a second that they don't know what they're doing and they'd do anything to get money. Plus those smiles are freaky" She looks over at them. "I'll still take their cookies though." She points to the extra ones.
Mar's brow furrowed as the other person described children as something comparable to gremlins. "It's a little weird we are teaching children capitalism, I'll give you that," she admitted. "But I don't know, I think they're so funny when they get all excited to sell you a box of cookies. Plus they always pull me in with the 'it's-for-a-good-cause' excuse." She opened her bag up wider so that all of the boxes were in plain view. "Honestly, feel free to help yourself, except for the Trefoils. Those are my favorite," she said.
maggiealbright: Of course. Honestly, it's nice to see someone who actually knew her well remember her. maggiealbright: Wait seriously? maggiealbright: Holy shit! maggiealbright: That's amazing, Mar! maggiealbright: "Congratulations" feels fucked up to say but that's what came to mind. maggiealbright: Jane would be so excited.
markinsey: Thank you so much! Genuinely. I really appreciate it. markinsey: It still feels a bit surreal, honestly. I'd gotten used to the routine of everything. And now there's a new new routine to get used to. markinsey: I so wish Jane could have been there with me.

"I may have gone a little overboard," Mar admitted, looking down with dismay at the shopping bag full of Girl Scout cookies that she'd purchased on an impulse. She was beginning to understand why troops would set up booths in public places. How could anyone say no to a community organization and tiny faces full of excitement? Who wanted to crush their hopes? "Actually, yeah, I definitely went overboard," she added after a beat, looking back up at the person before her. "I don't even like Thin Mints and I have two boxes. You want any of these? I don't want to have to eat them all myself."
maggiealbright: Thank you for this. maggiealbright: Honestly, it's been a...hard day to say the least, and it's really nice to know that someone remembers her so warmly. maggiealbright: Jane was always so fond of you and spoke a lot about the time the two of you spent together. maggiealbright: She was the best. maggiealbright: I could say the same to you. I'm sorry I haven't been the most active on social media, but I hope things are going well for you, or at least nominally better than they were the last time we interacted.
markinsey: Thank YOU for answering, I really appreciate it. markinsey: She absolutely was the best. I miss gossiping about doctors with her. markinsey: I'm doing alright, thank you for asking! I've been in remission for a while now, so I'm slowly remembering how to be a person again.
