Who wanted to crush their hopes? "Actually, yeah, I definitely went overboard," she added after a beat, looking back up at the person before her. "I don't even like Thin Mints and I have two boxes. You want any of these? I don't want to have to eat them all myself."

The lines of her face smooth with awe, only to alight with excitement.

"Custard filling, will preface that. Birds would be animal cruelty. Wait!" She presses both palms into the counter, leaning over to peer at the bag that had just been her possession twenty seconds ago.

He opens bag to get a look at the mystery donut for the first time, rolling it within its paper confines. It moved like it was dense, which he now attributed to the custard.

Seeing no sense in further delays, he reaches in to retrieve her experiment, bringing it to his lips to take a bite. It was fifty-fifty whether he would get just bread or a custard patch, and when it was the later he turned away from her a moment so he could wipe the remnants from the side of his mouth as he swallowed.

Ever since his return six months ago to his hometown, Sebastian spent a majority of his time partying at bars and clubs and trying to busy himself with distractions. However, the one time he usually didn't get out of control was when he hit up the local karaoke bar. As someone who used to sing on stage every single night to crowds of people, it was safe to say that's where he felt the most himself. While the small karaoke spot in Fishtown paled in comparison to literally any stage he's ever played, if you gave him a mic and he had some music, then he was a happy man. Tonight, Sebastian would say that his friend Lucky had been living up to his name since he had been personally invited. "I think I'm gonna go with a classic — a song that is timeless, legendary, and completely and utterly iconic," He said, words trailing off as he punched in the numbers into the karaoke machine. Two seconds later the beginning melody of Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball has made itself known and Sebastian couldn't help the amused smile that began to etch its way across his features. After an enthusiastic rendition of the song, Sebastian handed the mic to Lucky, "Alright give your rating, how'd I do? Go all Simon Cowell on me, rip me apart." A little criticism never hurt, especially from his friends.

"I know that's usually more associated with the Chandelier by Sia kind of vibe, but I think everyone in here including me would have appreciated the commitment if you had of gone full tilt homage to the video."

He lets go of his one man quest seeking justice for Miley Cyrus and her video as he steps up to the stage, mic in hand, still a little indecisive on his song of choice. The obvious one felt too obvious, even if it was a crowd pleasure -- or at least, Lucky deemed it as such every time he crooned the familiar lyrics.

On a whim, he switches courses entirely, opting for a Bon Jovi classic.

He gives it his all by the second verse, as if he knew Tommy personally and had a vested interest in his six string, but really it was more down to the vodka in his system taking over the driving seat.

Lucky parts with the mic after, a middle aged brunette practically rushing him off the stage so she could desecrate Whitney Houston's memory with her version of How Will I Know.

"I have not seen that one," Clem laughs, "but I think I definitely need to or this whole exhibit was a waste. I mean --" she lowers her voice so no one near them can hear and potentially get offended, "anything that isn't just random colors and shapes like this one."

He takes a few steps away from her, trailing away to the painting he had already looked at, beckoning for her to join him.

"Doesn't this look like a daisy chain boogie after you've overdid it on some hallucinogenics?" If nothing else, he could see the art in that. Lucky was almost sure he had said something about being able to taste colours at that very concert.

"Oh, yeah, totally. I completely get it." He cocked his head to the side, "This is a recreation of what it looked like after Henri accidentally swallowed a bunch of his paint; he was going to be fine but he felt like he dyed a little inside."

"Did you do all of that for a pun?" He asks, the only reason he didn't laugh at it was because the air around him didn't feel like it would accommodate that -- not with all the serious expressions and the hmms of appreciation.

"If so, that's funny as hell. If not, I would believe that this guy ate paint. Some of these are giving paint poisoning vibes." Another beat passes and he lets his gaze wander from the other to another painting on deliberate display, still nothing stirred within him.
