PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: IN CELEBRATION OF THE UMBRELLA
“Let us hold our umbrellas up high in celebration of National Umbrella Day, whatever the weather, ….”

Building Bridges @ Class of 1945 Library | Phillips Exeter Academy
Beginning November 1st, The Class of 1945 Library will host a traveling exhibition Building Bridges: Portraits of Immigrants and Refugees, a photo-text display created by the award-winning Family Diversity Projects of Amherst, Massachusetts. The exhibit created by Mark Chester, Gigi Kaeser, and Peggy Gillespie features photographs and interviews with people who have come to the United States as immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers from all over the world. The exhibit seeks to challenge damaging myths and stereotypes about immigrants and refugees as a way to prevent bullying and hatred towards this marginalized group of people.
The exhibit will be on display November 1 – December 14th on the ground floor of the Library Commons.

PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: POMP, POLITICS AND PELOSI
Covering the news of the day is a passive-aggressive sport in its own.
PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: Cruising through Alaska
“We’re all in the same boat.”
PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: ADVERTISING SIGNS OF THE TIMES
“The best ideas come as jokes. Make your thinking as funny as possible.”
PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: LIFE IN A FASHION CONSCIOUS WORLD
“The nearest memory of being fashion conscious was in fourth grade leaving in Baltimore, my birthplace. In the 1950s, the fashion rage was the Joe College look — a button-down shirt, the sleeveless sweater vest and chino pants with a buckle in the back — yes, a buckle-in-the-back! — worn with black-and-white saddle shoes or penny loafers.”
PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: THE WORLD NEEDS MORE CAMARADERIE
“With today’s mobile phones and computer tablets, people are being left alone to their own devices.”
