Whumpee growing straight up addicted to what they suffer at the hands of Whumper as a means of self-destruction, so much that when Whumper eventually ends up feeling remorse for them and letting them go they refuse.
No one will ever be able to silence the overwhelming guilt and urges the way Whumper could.
“Had enough?” whumper says, taunting- at least, it's meant to be a taunt, or perhaps an opportunity for whumpee to plead for mercy that won't be given. But whumpee can't bring themselves to care.
“No. No I- I need more. I need it to be worse, please-”
Anything to make the inside of their head finally go quiet, to wash everything tormenting them away with pure, uncaring pain.

now, given up on their life and having grown attached to whumper, whumpee wants nothing more than to keep whumper happy, so they trap the other in a fictional world/time loop where whumpee continously gets hurt, but hey. at least they see their captor smile. for once, this unloved monster of a person can feel what it is to be truly wanted.
point is, whumper starts to realise the many things they've done wrong and while at first overjoyed, later slowly begins to lose their sanity, wishing to not be forced to hurt another again.
and by the time both realise the roles had switched, it's already too late.
as a whump enjoyer obviously i like seeing my favorite characters get hurt but sometimes there genuinely is a point where i stop being happy about it and instead im sitting there like wait no ease up on them give them a break 😭 especially when theyre not receiving the caretaking i want for them 💔
