Life in Maris is peaceful, as if nothing could possibly go wrong. Everyone seems happy in this town, except perhaps the restless new arrivals, still trying to figure out what happened to them. But unbeknownst to even the gods watching over this seaside town, there is something dark that lurks just beneath the surface, something that has been waiting, biding its time. 

Strange things are happening all over Maris. First it was problems with the electricity, then it was problems with the sea life on the reef, as if they sensed something terrible coming. And then the howls began. Strange, eerie cries rising up from the forest around the town. People were reporting sightings of creatures never seen before, always out of focus, always gone too quickly for anyone to be sure of what they saw. 

And then these creatures began to encroach upon the quiet seaside town. People began to turn up missing. And finally, for the first time, the three sibling deities realized something was very wrong with their town. Someone, or something, was taking action. But they simply could not take this attack lying down. 

The eldest deity's voice rang across the town, revoking the seal placed on the powers of those from other worlds, a plea for their aid in protecting the town.

Surprise! It’s our first event here in MC! But that’s not all. Though it’s launching as an event, it will officially become part of the plot. So think of it as a story event. Of course, it’s entirely optional and you don’t have to have your muses involved in it at all, but I wanted to shake things up a bit!

With this event, comes a dark force that has been slumbering under the surface of Maris. Is it another deity? Or is it something else entirely? Nonetheless, this force seeks to plunge the town into darkness, to destroy it.

Ahh...what an intimidating fellow. It looks like you’ve had a rough time of it too! Well, that’s what Maris is for, at least! Maybe you can think of it like a..permanent vacation? While you’re here, you’ll be staying in Room 1A of the Anemone Apartments with Miss Rinoa Heartilly! In your room, you’ll find a letter explaining the situation, and the  key to your room. Do be sure not to lose it!

Well now, a dog is always a welcome sight! It’s certainly a good thing the apartments allow pets! It’ll definitely feel more like home, for sure. Perhaps now you can have a bit of peace? While you’re here, you’ll be staying in Room 1A of the Anemone Apartments with one Squall Leonhart! In your room, you’ll find a letter explaining the situation, and the key to your room. Do be sure not to lose it!

You may have your taco, but do you have FREE SHAVACADO? Still, you’re pretty tall! Getting around the city might be awkward, but we’re sure you’ll manage. And hey, at least there’s a familiar face for you! While you’re here, you’ll be staying in Room 2B of the Anemone Apartments with Selena Hijiri! In your room you’ll find a letter explaining the situation, and the key to your room. Do be sure not to lose it!

Maybe you two could be friends and have lunch sometime! Perhaps you’ll find a chance at peace here as well. Welcome, welcome! It seems you have a heavy weight on your shoulders, for one so young. But I suppose that’s the way it is being a magical girl, huh? But at the very least, perhaps you’ll find some answers? For now, you’ll be staying in the Anemone Apartments in 1B, but fear not! There exists a peaceful seaside town that often finds itself home to travelers from other worlds, brought by a mysterious pull. For some, it’s much different than the place they call home, but in time, the charm of the town seems to pull them in. But this peaceful little town is too quiet for one of the three deities that oversee this world. The bet they’ve proposed is sure to shake things up, in more ways than one. 

And so you find yourself here, for whatever reason, in the town of Maris, where you’re suddenly living with another person. Maybe one you know, maybe one you’ve never met. Perhaps you’ll find love there, or maybe you won’t? But that is the gist of the bet, a friendly game between siblings, while their older sibling simply shakes their head.
