Biggest insight I rediscovered while being locked down? This: Live your life how you fucking want to. No compromises, no excuses. Show up as your best self. You will have haters, so be it. Because you will also have people who fully love + support you. In other words, if you try to avoid haters and judgment, you'll also avoid the support and love of the people who do matter. Mayhaps my "realest" post here on social media -- in a world where everyone tries to be picture perfect. I don't. - Recently (painfully) looked through old stuff of mine. This is the last thing i received after graduation (Abitur; German high school diploma) in mid 2013. Back then, I was 19 years old. - Still remember it so vividly when I wrote the words in it: - "Das war's." ("It's over.") - For better or worse, I hated school. I hated myself and my life. Don't get me wrong; I got decent grades, a few teachers gave me valuable life wisdom, and I managed to be more extroverted. - On the flipside, I faked who I was, pretended to be someone I wasn't. Plus, I was insecure/shy and got bullied. A social outcast, so to speak. Never dated the girl(s) I wanted to. Was a virgin till my early 20s, partly due to some fucked up beliefs. - Anyhow, since then my life has changed for the better. (Thank goodness!) - However, it hasn't been easy. In my case, I traveled from Germany to Australia. I didn't know the country, the culture, nor anyone there. My English wasn't fluent, and it was hard to understand the Aussie accent. But I kept on trying, and finally hit the tipping/turning point (of my life). From that point forward I got rewarded for all the shit I endured over 7+ years prior. - Note: I'm not here to sell you something. If you believe there is an easy "how to" or "3 secrets I stumbled upon" or "67 steps" to turn your life around... To win at life... To do whatsoever.. There is none of that. - You got to make it work. For you. - Everyone is different. - Yes, I may guide. I may give advice. I may provide you with some tools and strategies. I may even cut your learning curve in half (by leaving out all the bs most people try to confuse you with). - But I won't do the work for you. - Because I can't. No one can. Only if it's your measurement for success. If #fulfillingrelationships are your yard stick for #success, #meaning and #happiness -- as it is for me, apparently -- you are a winner as long as you're getting "results" in that area.
