Nice to be part of this Exhibition and to engage for peace in Ukraine and to help the populations endangered by the aggression of the forces directed by Putin.

In an interview with Mario Hergueta, the artist said: „My idea was to use the sentence generator as a supplier for images and thus expand the context. By transforming them into paintings, further questions arise, such as the authenticity, reproduction, and perception of art. What is art? What is not? This transformation from digital to painting makes the images tangible, they become objects and part of a physical space. My idea was to see the project space as a kind of monitor and the shop window would be the screen. The idea fascinated me of presenting this virtual work, which previously could only be experienced on a screen, again on a kind of screen.”

„Smell that question.“, „Follow our moments.“, „Recover a past.“ – these sentences, with their unintended and meaningless content, give a glimpse of the beauty of the individual words and the sentence structure. The puzzling about the meaning of these sentences can lead to some philosophical considerations. 

Mario Hergueta’s works raise more questions than they answer. That’s what makes them so intriguing, because the strange sentences stick in the memory.
