“No nacimos para musas, sino para artistas”

Helena de Kay fue una ilustradora y pintora neoyorkina, viajó a Alemania y allí fue una de las primeras mujeres en estudiar diseño. La contemporaneidad no sólo exige dar visibilidad a las mujeres que están haciendo grandes cosas; también debemos dar su lugar a aquellas que no pudieron reivindicarlo. “No nacimos para musas, sino para artistas” está inspirado en un graffiti que vi en la pared del teatro Pavón, en Madrid, y recuerda al movimiento riot grrrl, por el cual las mujeres se reivindican como poetas, y no como poemas, como artistas, y no como musas. Esto me lleva a reflexionar sobre Helena, a veces musa, siempre artista.
