As we grow, social media has become part of our growth and daily lives. Generation Z refers to young individuals who are comfortable with digital technology and the internet but are not technologically proficient. Our world today revolves around the internet and social media. As I am part of Generation Z, I could state that social media has an impact on my life. I use social media from casual conversations to formal learning. It became a way of informing and educating others. We can't deny the fact that this tool made a very big part in helping us and contributing to our daily lives especially when COVID-19 occurred. Through social media, we can access and gather any kind of information such as good and bad information. This tool helps us to communicate with our loved ones that are too far away from us. It also helps us to learn more things, understand, and share any kind of information with others.
It greatly impacts our daily lives and makes our living more accessible and easy. Social media has also become our entertainment and a marketplace among sellers and buyers. With the help of new technology and media, we can say that everything has pros and cons. However, it has an impact on Gen Z, which might become an issue. It can be destructive and can cause uncontrollable addiction. It has also had a negative impact on people. Examples of negative effects of social media include cyberbullying, addictive use, trolling, online witch hunts, fake news, privacy abuse, and some of the material they obtain online is inaccurate. Furthermore, social media can manipulate and influence our minds and even in society, which could have a negative impact not just for being unproductive but also on our physical and mental health. Through media, normal communication has changed and it partly affected the true and important aspect of the basis of communication in the way people react to different emotions, verbal cues or nonverbal cues, and even social cues.
