I don’t know if this is a popular headcanon at all but I like to imagine Oliver and Hio are basically as weird as each other. (Oliver thinks Hio is weirder than him though because he doesn’t see himself as all that weird lol, but Hio’s like “okay I can be strange but I am absolutely not weirder than you, bro”)
Like if Oliver does something bizarre, Hio probably would do a somewhat less bizarre version of the same action. And then there’s other strange things Hio would do that Oliver probably wouldn’t (it doesn’t cross his mind to do it.)
I guess an example of this is Oliver being willing to eat strange things. Hio would also eat things in a manner that might be strange but only if he was aware they were edible.

I also think that they’re both about as smart as each other, though they’re more knowledgeable in different things. So they basically balanced out lol

Oliver is really emotionally intelligent and observant when it comes to emotions. Hio is very emotional and can be comforting to others, but he’s not always good at comprehending and handling his own emotions.
Oliver is pretty tech-illiterate but Hio’s quite smart when it comes to technology.
Oliver lacks some life skills because he’s kind of baby. Hio, being older, has them instead. (Ex. Oliver can’t drive and he’s a really questionable cook)
Oliver is randomly really wise and collected sometimes, and Hio sometimes can be quite a fool (especially while stressed or while in an unfamiliar space)
