Marilyn Monroe | A blog created to spread love and REAL infos and photos of the incredible Marilyn Monroe 🤍 We all love Marilyn Monroe, but
Marilyn Monroe takes a nap during a visit to, of all places, Bement, Illinois. 1955.
She had been invited by the National Arts Foundation to “bring art to the masses”, but when she got there, it turned out she was tricked: it was just a publicity stunt concocted by the head of the Foundation.
“It was total chaos,” said Eve Arnold, who took the photo. “Everybody wanted to see her, talk to her, to get her autograph and to touch her. By then, she knew she was being used but she was game, joked with the press, posed for pictures, signed autographs and smiled for everybody.”
She was paid a whopping $500 for the visit.
