I’m posting this a little early because I’m almost definitely going to be late for tomorrow’s prompt.

Another day another prompt!

Last time I had to do a historical prompt I went too hard and made myself sad. I grew up with a parent who loves disco, so I went with that.

I also made a playlist of disco and 70’s music if you want the full immersive experience

Okay so this almost ruined my progress on Polysaja week because I got so lost in the sauce of their moms. Let me know if you want to read the doomed Yuri I almost wrote instead of this 🤣

Jinu came back to the hotel room exhausted, as usual. He emptied his pockets onto the little desk, and dropped his backpack on the floor of the small closet and shuffled to bed, falling face first into the unmade sheets and too-soft mattress. He was somewhat hoping that sleep might simply claim him until he had to get out of bed for bus call, despite it being only 4:30 in the afternoon. He pulled himself further up the bed, and pulled a pillow under his chest to hold to tightly. He sighed, closing his eyes.

He was startled by the creak of the bathroom door behind him.

“Myst?” Abby’s voice called out.

“Just me,” Jinu replied, somewhat muffled by the pillow.

Abby approached quietly, the bed dipping when he sat down. Jinu turned to look at him with a smile, but it didn’t come as easily as usual, despite how relieved he was to see him. Abby rubbed his back gently and Jinu melted into the touch.

“What’s up?”

Jinu shrugged.

“Nothing. I don’t know. Just…tired.”

Abby lay down beside him, head propped up with one hand, still rubbing his back with the other. The contrast of his softness after the intensity of the work day brought a tear to Jinu’s eye.

“That’s- really nice. Thanks.”

“Want me to go pick you up something for dinner?”

Jinu shook his head.

Abby stopped the gentle motions only long enough to sit up and take his shirt off. He lay back down and eased Jinu so he was sprawled across his chest. Jinu sunk into him with a little sigh. He was so warm, so safe.

Abby held him tightly, one hand in his hair, the other snaking up under his shirt to rub his back again, skin to skin.

“You’re here now. I got ya.”

A few tears of relief and frustration eked from the corners of his eyes as he buried his face in Abby’s neck.

“Thanks, Abs.”
