Sure, the most obvious perk was that he gets to taste all the wine he wants but he just wasnโt sure if he would be a great company. This didnโt have to be a date if he didnโt want it to be. His friend was just being a huge idiot by alluding that this was somewhat a blind date, just because he couldnโt show up at the last minute and now itโs getting to Phoenixโs head. Such nonsense! With his hands shoved in the pockets of his jeans, Phoenix fights the urge to pace around at the entrance of the winery. If he did then he might as well put up a huge sign above him that read โDAMN IT, IโM NERVOUSโ. Too engrossed with the pressure to be a great stand-in for his friend, he misses the figure slowly approaching him at first. โOh!โ He exclaims, taking a step back in surprise before giving a small wave. โHi! Audrey had a love hate relationship with February. It was her busiest month of the year (understandably) but it also meant that she needed to pretend to enjoy love even more than she already did. It wasn't that she hated love, she just didn't understand the push to find a partner that completed you. "Valentine's Day," she muttered, glancing over her shoulder at the person beside her. "Commercialized or worth it?"
it had been a long day of trial preparations and a lot of long winded conversations for jo on her first day back. she wasn't necessarily complaining but she was looking forward to rewarding herself with a drink---something caffinated or alcoholic at this point. she was absent-mindedly trying to get off this last phone call as she was walking down the street. she's managed to hang up but a quick look makes her realize her brain was in a daze. of course she's walking in the complete opposite direction of how was intending. without even a thought, after making a full stop in the middle of the street to turn the second she does, she runs into someone. jo being absolutely mortified and after a moment of her collecting herself she offers up, " oh damn it--- i actually just became my own worst nightmare i am SO sorry. " as if she can't stop because now she's snowballing in her own head. " embarrassing really, i apologize i just...i don't know i---dont actually have a good excuse..."
zac was exhausted. he had just finished a 16 hour stretch in the pediatric icu, who was desperately understaffed after being ravaged by a flu bug, and had already fallen asleep standing up while waiting for his coffee. they called his name and he took his drink, finding a booth to sit in. unfortunately, as soon as his butt hit the seat, his eyes were closed again. he hadn't even had a sip of his coffee yet. they didn't open again until he heard a voice, talking to him. he jumped slightly, his eyes flying open, his cheeks turning warm with a blush. "i'm so sorry, i must have dozed off for a second there. what did you say?" he asked sheepishly, finally taking a sip of his coffee.

Jonathan was a familiar face at Book Voyage. He didn't often purchase any books (he preferred to patronize the local library) but he did enjoy the entire aesthetic of the bookshop on wheels. So, it was hardly surprising when he was left in charge of it for a few minutes. "Oh, the owner'll be back in ten minutes," he said, glancing up from the book he was reading.
