Sappy And Oversharing

Hi, I’m not Maple. It’s a nickname that my girlfriend felt very clever about, seeing as I’m a sweet sap.

I just kinda need a void to talk into, so that’s what this is going to be. Lots of mildly cryptic, vaguely poetic, and probably concerning little parts of my life and my mind. A big part of me thinks that none of it is worth sharing, but I feel like that might not be true. Even if it isn’t, I dunno, the internet is a void and a canvas, so I’m gonna paint my nothing with something that feels important.

I used to think a lot about love, too. The kind where someone is there to comfort you after you wake up from a nightmare, where there’s a cup of coffee waiting for you when you wake up because they know how you like it, where you cook together and get handed the ingredients as you ask for them. The kind where it’s okay if you make a mistake, and you’re still held like you’re worth the world even when you mess up. A kind that isn’t transactional. The stuff people write poems and songs about, even if it doesn’t happen in our world. I’d read fanfics, and write stories, and dream about it, wishing it were real.
