People really need to realize the difference between "This female character was created solely for male appeal by her creator" and "this female character was created with a lot of love and care and has plenty of relatable and deep storylines, but execs in suits in the company, or just capitalism itself forced the author to add some weird shitty elements so that the story she is featured in doesn't get cancelled within a month, because incels often make up a good chunk of the sales and they can't alienate then fully so they gotta at least pretend a little that it is for them"
Trust me, a surprising amount of them fall into the latter category. Don't leave those girlies to incels. They deserve better. It is fine to be bothered by such treatment. I am too. But I don't like discarding those characters for it. If anything I see them as victims of it. Don't let others reduce them to just those factors. They deserve better.
