|A teaser for now, Iβll finish the rest in the morning!|
Gion Matsuri is famous for its floats, understandably so, some may be twenty-five meters in height and weight twelve tons. This year they had thirty floats, representing a distinct neighborhood or corporation of Kyoto. Most of the wheels were as tall as you were or taller, they were a marvel, a sensation.
One float in particular caught your eye, it represented somewhere youβd never heard of, you didnβt even know what the float was representing. Bright Patersonβs hung from the sides and glowed dimly under the suns rays. A Shinto shrine stood proudly beside a young man. He was dressed as a Kitsune, youβd presumed.
The man wore a blue kimono adorned with hand embroidered white chrysanthemums. His face was covered by a white kitsune mask, it had sly black eyes with red and gold accents. You hadnβt noticed the crack next to the curved red mouth of the mask before, but it seemed to stand out more now, as if something was drawing you to it. In fact, there were more things about him that seemed peculiar, like how the ears attached to his mask seemed to twitch every so often, they had even seemed furry when given a good look. The tail- or should you say tails, stuck out like a sore thumb, and they shocked you, you hadnβt even noticed them in the first place.
You could have sworn that youβd only looked away for a moment, but the float was gone and no where in sight- but that was strange, the float that had been behind it was directly in front of you now, so shouldnβt it have been in your line of sight? Had you been hallucinating?

It had been an hour since youβd seen the mystery float, and you needed a break from the crowd. Hastily, you packed up your things and made off with it. A quick walk would do you justice, maybe youβd stop imagining the faint light from the lanterns that hung from the float was in your line of view.
