Hello. This is my first time using tumblr! I am very shy online but I am also very passionate when it comes to talking about my interests — particularly with Tokyo Revengers and specifically with its live action continuity, though I recently got my hands on the Valhalla arc 2022 stage play DVD and 2025 musical Blu-Ray.

I also write a lot, and my ao3 can be found here. I am constantly working on projects even if they don’t get posted. I am currently writing a Baji essay (sitting at 19k words) since he’s my favorite character, but my other favorites include Kazutora, Mikey, Koko, and Inupi; though I haven’t talked about InuKoko for a while.

My personal favorite pairings are BajiFuyu, BajiTora, and MaiTora, but I fw any pairings that make sense to me.

I talk a ton to my cfs on Instagram, so if ur wondering how I’m spamming so much about Kento Nagayama, TR, etc., within such a short time frame it’s because I’m pretty much transferring all my thoughts from there on my private highlights over here.

It may take me a while to get used to talking to people, but I love to have discussions about character analysis and listen to other people’s thoughts, opinions and interpretations.

I found out that I can sort things on my blog via different tags so that’s fun!! I plan to put “manymango posting” for specific stuff I’ve made so they don’t get mixed in with the reblogs; along with tagging other categories for the other topics that I talk about frequently so I can find them more easily.

I believe I’ve mentioned this before — but one of my favorite ever song choices for Baji in terms of BajiFuyu & BajiTora is “A Pearl” by Mitski, and imo people are lowkey sleeping on it.

(Baji = the speaker, Chifuyu = the person being spoken to whose affection he cannot fully accept despite how badly he may want to, and Kazutora with his whole conflict with Mikey and the trauma with Shinichirou’s death = a war)

He just makes my heart ache. Anyways.

You are exactly who you think you are. I love how the director implemented augmented teeth for the role. You are in fact the coolest guy on the whole block.

I have a separate highlight for that one lmao, and shout out to my family for encouraging me to plan a day dedicated to an incredibly self-indulgent Tokyo Revengers themed trip, and then following me around to Shibuya square, the cafe that Mikey takes Emma to for her birthday (in which we tried the whipped cream pancakes), and the bridge where Takemichi and Chifuyu confront Baji (really hard place to find btw since the bridge is not labeled as an official landmark on any online maps). We went to some places too for live action specific locations like where Takemichi broke up with Hina; though that was all the way in Yokohama, so we went on another day.

But yeah I’m splitting up my pt. 4 highlight into two parts because of how much I wanted to say lmao. Anyways I found a tonnn of cool merch in Japan, and they were actually celebrating the release of the final chapter of the Letter from Baji Keisuke spin off when we were there. Oh my god I was so freaking floored fr.

Anyways, I wanted to include more pictures from the trip that I hadn’t included on my Baji highlight lol!! I had sm fun and it was a great opportunity.

Fr though I need to lock in for my live action BajiFuyu fanfic. Ik that there’s the main BajiFuyu tag on ao3 but their dynamic in the movies is just not the same thing I fear🥀🥀, and it’s mainly because Chifuyu has a nearly entirely different personality (brash; a little dumb; keeps on getting himself into stupid shit because he’s the epitome of “blind leading the blind”) than animanga Chifuyu (the goat; has basic common sense and logic; only gets into stupid shit because he wants to support the people he’s following and their ideas).

Plus lowkey due to certain writing choices and actor chemistry it does actually feel more obvious that Baji likes him back / generally appreciates him more, bc the scene with their flashback and how they met in the past is actually arranged earlier in the movie instead of after Baji’s death, which improves a lot of things about their dynamic in my personal book — and wait a minute I don’t think I made a post on that yet.

I’m specifically referencing the Valhalla movies because it’s been a while since I’ve watched the first installment with Moebius (and there are definitely examples included in that one as well), but some altered exposition dumps that immediately come to mind include:

Future Draken generally not being all that helpful when explaining things because he’s kinda~ off his rocker and stares eerily into space half the time; along with explaining things out of context since he assumes that Takemichi already knows what he’s talking about (because his body was physically present)

Future Draken being escorted out of the visitors’ room because he just starts having a mental breakdown and making repetitive stabbing motions down at the table over wanting to murder Kisaki

Yamagishi, Akkun, and Makoto (but unfortunately not Takuya, RIP) explaining Valhalla’s whole deal, but before they can elaborate on all the details, Kazutora physically interrupts the whole spiel and ostensibly kidnaps Takemichi; because despite how surface level friendly he seems he is also clearly not giving Takemichi the choice to stay and listen to the entire rundown.

Because he doesn’t know anything, Takemichi is left to constantly question different things like: Why exactly does Mikey snap and kill Kazutora? Along with: how exactly does Baji die?

—because the thing is, Draken never specifies that Kazutora is the one to have killed Baji like in the animanga, and it leaves the manner in which Baji kicks the bucket a question that’s open to multiple answers. Whether it was Kazutora, Kisaki or otherwise, Takemichi just doesn’t know — which is what makes his writing much stronger overall as a protagonist even if he does somewhat~ fall into the same pitfalls as Animanga Takemichi of just like. Standing back and letting Baji die (💀💀).

Thoughhh tbf to Movie Takemichi he’s given more leeway since he’s generally trying to stay on task instead of going on constant side quests that don’t have anything to do with Baji; and the battle field is shown to be so freaking chaotic. (That, and Baji himself is constantly shown during the fight rather than just randomly appearing out of thin air when he previously wasn’t shown at all, but back to Takemichi.)

He has to put the pieces together himself, which is so much more compelling from a writing respect rather than the story literally swerving out of its way to spoon feed everything to the audience; and I really love how everyone just happens to be as unhelpful as possible for one reason or another.

Anyways if I had to describe the difference between animanga vs movie Takemichi it would look smth likeeee:

Listen the moment that the s3 dub dropped I immediately had to check if Lucien Dodge voiced Baby Baji. It’s been smth that I’ve been so curious to see for so long esp since he and Kazutora’s VAs (Kazutora being voiced by Joe Zieja) are usually the default child voices in the flashbacks so I wanted to see if they would do it again, AND LO AND BEHOLD.
