NATHANIEL was adjusting, slowly but surely, to the idea of trying to maintain a friendship with Manny. If he’d been put in this position years before, he’d have thought it was impossible, but now… Well, everything was different these days. He knew it wasn’t going to happen overnight, but he was more than willing to at least make an effort. He nodded slightly as Manny spoke, “Alright, we can just scratch that one straight off the list,” Nate answered, glancing back at the books on the rest of the list, “Can you point me in the right direction to grab them?”
Perhaps part of him was no envious. He had seen Nate’s situation, and now the man was with someone who loved him... and they had a kid. Of course, he wanted the man to be happy, but the fact that his own heart was broken right now made it a little bit harder to swallow. Not that he would say any of that aloud. He’d get through this... what choice was there? “Probably a wise idea. Sure, they’re in the kids section. Which one first?” he asked, pushing his own thoughts aside.
