I’m making a conscious decision to not just speak on, to not just donate, but also to not take up space when there are much more important things going on that need to be addressed than what I’m wearing on any given day. It doesn’t feel right to me to continue doing this at this time even though this is something I’ve done every day whether it was a good or bad day for me for the past eight and a half years. I stand in solidarity with the movement and the people that are protesting police killing black men and women. And though I don’t know what it’s like to fear for my life because of the color of my skin, I understand that the system set in place has allowed this to continue without the ability of it to be checked by those that the system oppresses or anyone else who sees through it’s true intentions. If this is something that matters to you, please speak on it, please donate if you can, and please do not take away from a message that all of us should be able to get behind.
