Mom’s okay, the operation was successful despite severe and major complications, but the bills are killing us. The bank even tried to withhold money from my father out of a technical discrepancy and my mother would’ve died in the operating room if it hadn’t been resolved. My parents showed me the money we have left and they have about less than $1000 worth, and they’ve been rationing what they had since mom got back here in December when she heard that I became suicidal after my ex brutally dumped and abandoned me, among many other things she did. Mom would have continued her work abroad if that hadn’t been the case and her medicine and operation would be free of charge, but I digress. This is what my family’s dealing with now. The way I see it, the remaining funds is only going to last us a month, maybe a month and a half. They’re both retired, and they don’t have money and work anymore. That means I’m also involved in taking care of them. Job’s are still tough for me to come by, and I’m trying to keep at least $150-$200 every month just for myself because I have rent, electricity, food, and water to pay for. That’s just good enough for me to survive and eat bread. I barely have money in the bank as well. A lot of people since September last year have been so kind and generous and patient with me with regards to giving me money in exchange for my artwork, and it was always a joy to work with them. Nothing goes unappreciated. But the reality is that every time the end of the month comes by, I run out again, and I’m back to zero. If I owned this place I wouldn’t worry about paying for anything. I really wish I could find other sources of income because I’m starting to feel guilty about this, and I hate that, even though folks tell me they have some money to spare and that they love my work. Funding sites don’t support my country either. That’s an avenue I already gave up on. I just want a roof to live under, some facilities, and food to eat. Other than the commission work I’ve been getting from folks online, I’m also venturing in external projects. That’s why I’ve been silent in some occasions. There’s a definite payout, but I don’t know how long or how far I can make this sustainable. I’m honestly scared to death. I don’t even need to mention anymore that I’m ignoring my medicine for my worsening blood pressure because of all this. So……I don’t know anymore. I just need help. As always, I’m willing to lose sleep and work my body overtime and make art for money so I won’t end up in the street. I would be so grateful if people spread the word.
