when i’m in a diva competition at the international guilds conference but my opponent is the guy from korea

i think an interesting dynamic for them would be. how do i explain this. situationship vibes but it’s platonic and kind of strange. not exactly toxic, but something a little bitter nonetheless. i’ve said this before but i don’t think they’d like each other very much at first. jong-in thinks jin-woo is cold and flippant, jin-woo thinks jong-in is too flamboyant and self-assured. neither of them are these things, but they don’t know that about each other because jin-woo’s personality doesn’t come across to people he doesn’t know, and jong-in is extremely good at pretending like he’s a certain way when he really isn’t. they just wouldn’t vibe very much.

what i do see for them is a connection that they can’t quite find in other people. i think they both uniquely know a certain, primal type of fear. they both know what it’s like to claw your way out of devastation. they’re opposites in many ways, which i think would end up drawing them together. guy who hates being in the spotlight and guy who excels at it. guy who has embraced his abilities and guy who still is learning how. i think they’d have plenty of reasons to envy each other, hence the bitterness. for jong-in, it’s the: if only i could grow stronger, maybe i could control my powers better, maybe i wouldn’t have to be so afraid. for jin-woo, it’s the: i wonder how he smiles all the time, i wish i could’ve awakened as s-rank like him so i wouldn’t have had to suffer at the bottom. of course neither of those are entirely accurate, but in order for them to know that they’d have to talk about their emotions and neither of them are good at that

- i always thought of jong-in and hae-in being roommates but mage trio being roommates is infinitely funnier. there’d be so many clothes and shoes everywhere. jong-in and alicia are constantly fighting over the aircon. they’re all the kind who wake up randomly at 4 am and sit in the kitchen to stare at nothing. they’re giggling at each other every time one of them brings a partner over. thomas barely fits in the fucking apartment. jong-in buys way too much garlic and lennart’s german beer could knock out both of the other two with one sip. every friday they have movie night and end up asleep on top of each other. incredible

- hear me out on this one. jin-woo and tae-gyu would be so fucking funny. kind of roommates that initially like “we’ll just be cordial” but then end up being closer than either wants to admit bc they’re both insane, just in different directions. they keep their own spaces very separate but the living room has been turned into a table tennis arena. they both keep buying stupid hats and increasingly concerning weapons. tae-gyu is a shit cook and jin-woo is a fantastic one so they’re either going to eat ramen straight out of the packet or michelin-worthy homecooked meals. every time hae-in comes over tae-gyu’s like “wanna go to the court w me” and jin-woo has to hit him w the side eye. bro stop trying to tempt my gf im trying to have a date

- yoon-ho and jin-chul are the only roommates that aren’t chaotic as hell together. jin-chul has a sixth sense for when jong-in is coming over so he always vacates before yoon-ho can even warn him. the food is perfect. the apartment is immaculately cleaned. it’s quiet. it’s the most beautiful sight you’ve ever laid eyes on. no one is doing it like them. actual 10/10 nothing more needs to be said

- hae-in and akari where it’s the dynamic of introvert adopted by an extrovert. that apartment is cheerful and loud af but only bc akari will yap and you cannot stop her. hae-in wakes up early to on runs and when she’s back akari hits her with the “GOOD MORNING RISE AND GRIND !!!!!” and knocks her fucking socks right off. akari’s sister loves hae-in. akari was the first one to shovel talk jin-woo. hae-in pays for everything when they go out. they actually get along really well it’s just that hae-in sometimes does Not know what to do with all that energy

some other roommate dynamics:

- hae-in & jong-in: divas who are just chill, good friends. jong-in wears full outfits to do work at the kitchen table and hae-in giggles at him. they get along well :)

- jin-woo & jong-in: dude you gotta talk about your feelings i know you had a nightmare last night. i’m not talking about mine tho. also jong-in consistently begs jin-woo to let him fix his wardrobe

- jin-woo & yoon-ho: gym buddies. the living room is basically a gym. the food is fucking delicious all the time. the closet is actually manageable and not packed to the brim

- jong-in & tae-gyu: stay up until 2 am gossiping
