watching School Hard feels like this

i'm deeply unconvinced by any post-chosen story that doesn't feature buffy having the worst crash out of her life after spending like two months not being solely responsible for the fate of the world anymore. an identity crisis of epic proportions ensues. the suicidal ideation comes back with a vengeance (did it ever leave? not really. but it still manages to come back somehow). she can't get out of bed most days and she doesn't have to because if an apocalypse happens someone else can put a stop to it. and it's such a relief, it never stops being a relief, but buffy has been depressed for so many years, and she's spent so long pushing away all the bad thoughts and bad feelings because if she thought about them too much she was sure she would break. and buffy couldn't afford to break. she had to be strong, because if she wasn't people would die. but now that's not true anymore, other people can and will take care of it, which means there's nothing's forcing buffy to function. so why should she even try? what's even the point of her anymore?
