Base Prices:

Base prices come from the level of line work involved in the commission. Sketches are messier and rougher while polished line work is more deliberate.

Bust (collar or upper chest up) - $30USD

Renders:

Rendering is not required. Commissions without rendering can be blocked out with a color free of charge.

Flat - flat blocks of color for skin, fur, hair, clothing, accessories, and weapons without shading that can go with a sketch or polished line art will add to the total cost by another $10USD

Rough - rough, messy shading that I would only recommend paired with sketch lines, more along the lines of a concept render, will add to the total cost by another $15USD

Polished - clean, shiny renders usually in my airbrush style and can go with a sketch or polished line art will add to the total cost by another $20USD

Other

Other figures - each additional person or pet will add to the total cost by $20 per figure, with any particular rendering or line style not stacking per figure.

Vehicles - each vehicle (cars, motorcycles, speeders, space ships, water vessels, etc) will do a total of $30USD per vehicle without color with an additional $10USD per vehicle for color in any render style

Special Effects - glowing lightsabers and blaster bolts, magical circles, and Breathing Style effects will be handled on a case by case but will range from $15-$20USD

Setting background - anything more complicated than a color block behind the figure(s) (free of charge) will be an additional $30USD

The thing is, there’s no way to know where these people are coming from. In the before, when fandom was more in the corners we all knew about, you could search LJ or a message board or whatever social bookmarking site we were using. You could join the community and participate.

You could get a little dopamine hit by seeing someone tell their friends why they loved your story.

Anymore, those recs are hidden in discords, or in tiktoks or instagram slideshows that you can’t search for. They’re inaccessible, not discoverable unless you’re already there. You may never know why 27 people left kudos on an old story of yours, what they liked and found in your writing. You just get the thumbs up and a kinda lonely feeling, cause these could be your people. You could like them, maybe. You could be friends.

But you’ll never find out why they stopped by, or what people are saying about you behind your back, and that’s sad.

In TCW, Satine appears to control the entire Mandalorian system (or at least her government does). She can claim neutrality for her system and her people, separating her government from Death Watch and their connection to the Separatists so that their actions don't incur consequences for herself and her people.

And then in Rebels, we meet Fenn Rau who claims to have actually FOUGHT in the Clone Wars on the side of the Republic. Which... radically goes against Satine's declaration of neutrality, but also doesn't align with Death Watch's more warmongering connection with the Separatists.

TCW also told us that Satine had "exiled all the warriors" to a nearby moon named Concordia, implying that anyone left in the system had agreed not to continue warrior traditions.

So how an entire group of Mandalorians managed to not just BE WARRIORS STILL but explicitly go against Satine's declaration of neutrality in order to fight for the Republic is BAFFLING. It makes no fucking sense. The only way to make any sense of it is to believe that the Protectors and Concord Dawn were never under Satine and her government's control to begin with, so her rules and her neutrality just didn't apply to them.

But they're never brought up in any of the first discussions Obi-Wan has with Satine about a Mandalorian warrior attacking a Republic vessel. You'd think if there was a known group of Mandalorians who still practiced warrior traditions that refused to acknowledge Satine as their ruler, that would be important information to bring up and consider here. Even if the Protectors are already fighting for the Republic at this point in the story, it would still be a worthwhile place to start investigating. So the only way to make sense of THAT is to assume that the Protectors had been in hiding and Satine didn't know about them yet, or they were created only AFTER Satine made her declaration of neutrality and they disagreed with it and a bunch of people ran off to make their OWN "traditional" warrior group that wasn't associated with either Satine or Death Watch in order to help the Republic in the war.

And that's... kinda interesting. The idea of a more "traditional" warrior group that didn't agree with some of Satine's rules but who had no interest in trying to overthrow her or join the Separatists in their more imperialist ways, and so they actually fought on the Republic's side in the war. There IS a way to take that and to try to use that as a bridge between Lucas's Mandos and Filoni's Mandos. ESPECIALLY if we'd seen more of a conflict between Fenn Rau and Bo-Katan, who manages to represent both the Kryze bloodline AND Death Watch, neither of which are things the Protectors should be all that impressed by.

Leaving a comment on a fic provides compounding delight. Authors will love initially receiving a comment, will love later recalling this and that particular aspect of a comment, and they will love rereading comments and being reminded how readers enjoyed the work.

Comments are not a one-time act of kindness and consideration. They keep giving.

While the plan to take over Mandalore via sending a bunch of criminals to "attack" it so that Death Watch can "save" it works temporarily, their leader is immediately killed by one of the criminals and Bo-Katan isn't able to do anything about it so she just runs off. She can't even save her own sister from said criminal and runs off again.

Bo-Katan is then incapable of rallying enough support to free Mandalore from Maul and Death Watch on her own, so she has to recruit a young former Jedi whose last (and first) interaction with her involved Bo-Katan trying to kill her. Unfortunately, said former Jedi Padawan can't actually help save Mandalore either so she has to go back to the Jedi to ask them to send clones to Mandalore to die for Bo-Katan's cause. The only reason Bo-Katan frees Mandalore at all is because a few Jedi feel bad enough for Ahsoka that they allow her to take some of the forces who ARE good at war to fight off Death Watch.

And then the Empire comes in and Bo-Katan is almost immediately ousted from her leadership of Mandalore and seemingly is incapable of getting it back from Gar Saxon for almost 20 years and ends up needing the help of another young kid and a Jedi Padawan to free Mandalore again.

And then a few years later the Empire comes back and Bo-Katan is immediately stupid enough to think she can negotiate with them and it leads to most of her planet being glassed and many of her people being killed.

She then spends the next almost ten years wandering around the galaxy trying to find the Darksaber again and immediately loses it to some random bounty hunter, which causes her to lose what little support she'd managed to gain since her planet was glassed.

And when she finally regains leadership of Mandalore for the latest time, it's due primarily to a series of weird accidents that give her the support of a traditionalist group that branched off from Death Watch who can go in and fight off the dregs of the Empire one last time.

She also does succeed at things like: getting Satine out of jail and to a place where she can call the Jedi for aid, convincing Ahsoka to help her, convincing people to follow her at minimum three different times, helping Din and friends take Moff Gideon's ship, etc. But none of these successes are enough to constitute "being good at war" which is the claim she makes in TCW s7.

So if I'm being a little kinder about her skills than I was in the original post, you could probably say that her greatest strength is being scrappy. Bo-Katan is a cockroach, she just refuses to die despite how often she loses, and she's like a dog with a fucking bone about a lot of things and just refuses to give up once she's dug her heels in which DOES lead her to a certain level of success, it's just that that success always seems to need other people's help and then it doesn't last long once she has it and she has to start all over again.

Jango Fett is dead.

Akaani “Spar” Fett, formerly known as Alpha-02, knows it before anyone on Mandalore, but he only has until the rest of the Mando’ade know to make his decisions and plans. With the old Mand’alor dead, a new one will have to be elected. Despite what he might want, Spar is the preferred candidate for the traditionalist clans who elected Jango. The location link to Jango’s beskar’gam moving offers a faint hope at delaying the election and the resulting conflict with the Death Watch clans.

If Spar can convince both sides to prioritise the reclamation of Jango’s belongings and son, he can at least have his last shred of family with him for whatever comes next.
