@reblog-me was asking in the tags if I use a compass beforehand, so here’s your answer: I absolutely use a compass!! Circles are weirdly difficult to get right, so that really helps keep it neat. I use a compass, protractor, and ruler to make myself a guide for symmetry, plus I sketch out the design itself in pencil, but this is all drawn out by hand. Hope that answers your question :)
