[Carol is walking past and notices... April? She stops in place, staring at the girl for a moment]
"... April..?"
( @mama-oneil )
*she turned around from talking to her dad (and goldenberry if goldenberry wants to join) looking at the human confused*
"Dad, do we know her?"
@goldenberry-fruitbythefootau (if you wanna join)
[Splinter looks over at the woman, brow furrowing slightly. He shakes his head a bit]
"No, but perhaps she knows those other versions of us..."
She blinks, confused.
"Oh... my apologies, you look just like my daughter."
*April nodded slightly, looking to rhe human*
"I had a mom?"
Her heart breaks a little at the question, and she nods.
He glances at the woman, humming quietly.
"I guess so. We were never able to find your parents."
"So- I'm not.. your daughter?"
*April looked away, her dad's? Are not her real dads? Well, she has speculations about this, she isn't exactly sure how a rat and a goat makes a human, or 4 turtles*
His ear twitches a bit.
"Biologically... no. But that does not make you any less of my child, April. You are my daughter and I love you."
She watches, not sure what to feel. Her own daughter doesn't seem to recognize her at all, and apparently she was never part of her daughter's life where these people are from.
*April nodded slightly, looking to her supposedly mon*
"Your my mom?"
She nods again.
"Not from your world, but yes."
He examines the woman, taking her in again. This is his daughter's biological mother, then?
"Dad, where did you find me?"
"You sure you didn't kidnap me from my own mom?"
*April raised an eyebrow, putting her hand on her hips, she wouldn't put it past draxum to do that, but splinter, she would be surprised*
He startles, looking over at his daughter and shaking his head.
"What? No!"
He sighs, his tail swishing slightly.
"We found you tottering around in the sewers. We brought you back up to the surface, but you would not go. You said your mother was gone."
She frowns slightly. She was gone? What does that mean?
"We brought you to the police, but we found you in the sewers again a few days later. You followed us home, and even when Draxum tried to throw you out, you just kept coming back until we kept you."
He chuckles a little, before looking apologetically to April.
"I am sorry we did not tell you. Although, I am a little surprised you didn't know we weren't your, um, real parents."
She hums in thought before giving April a kind smile.
"I am not sure what happened to your mother, April, but I'm sure she would be very happy to know you found such a caring family."
*April nodded slightly, she doesn't really remember this..*
"Does that mean there is another me around?"
"You thought I was your real daughter?"
She cringes slightly, but nods.
"Yes, but she looks a little... different, thanks to a man called Bishop."
He tilts his head slightly.
"Bishop?"
"Who is bishop?"
She shakes her head a little.
"Just some jerk who gets away with whatever he wants because he works for the government."
He frowns, nodding a little. That certainly does not sound good.
*April nodded slightly*
"Does that mean you know everything about me?"
"My birthday?"
"Or if- you know what could have happened to my mom?"
She smiles a bit.
"June 1st." Her smile goes a little sad. "I'm not sure how much is different, with you having grown up with Splinter rather than with me."
She goes quiet for a moment before shaking her head.
"I'm sorry, baby. I'm not sure what could have happened to your mother." She tilts her head a little. "I'm a registered nurse and a single mother. I can only assume there was some kind of accident."
He perks up slightly.
"You are a nurse?"
Someone still needs to take care of that stab wound Beautyberry has. They've always taken care of themselves, but having someone other than Draxum with actual medical knowledge check on the kids could be nice.
"June 1st.."
"You think YOU can talk some sense into Honeyberry?"
"And.. bea needs some help."
"I'm not sure who those people are, but if they need help, I can do my best to provide it."
He nods, looking to April.
"Would you go and get your brother? I believe Draxum is still trying to speak with Honeyberry, but Beautyberry probably hasn't gone far yet."
*April nodded, running off to get bea*
He looks to the woman as April runs off.
"Beautyberry is my Donatello, if that helps."
Ohh. She nods.
"Ah, I see."
She sincerely hopes Beautyberry is doing better than Donnie is, then.
*April comes back a bit later, holding bea, honestly, he doesn't seem that much better then Donatello*
"I got him, and- Honeyberry is locked in his room"
"A-april, what is going on?" He asks, squirming a little in her arms.
She looks over as April comes back, carrying a non-winged turtle. Had Bishop done that to Donnie and Leo, too? She hadn't thought too much about it at the time.
He wriggles out of April's hold once she stops moving, shaking himself off.
He turns and freezes. Who is that? He glances to April and then to Splinter, tail swishing slightly.
"Beautyberry, this nice lady is a nurse. Would you please let her help to take care of your stab wound?"
He opens his mouth, finds no sound will come out, and shuts it again. He takes a breath and tries again.
"Th-that's okay! It doesn't even hurt anymore, really! I wouldn't want to waste her time, it wasn't even that bad of a stab!"
Oh, okay. So not so much better than Donatello. She sighs.
"Hey hun, I'm not going to hurt you. I wont even touch you for now, okay? Can you just show me where you're injured?"
*April watched bea*
"Its okay bea, this lady, is apparently my mom from another universe"
"You will get that stab wound fixed up bea"
*april stared at bea, huffing slightly*
He tenses up slightly, shifting uncomfortably. He stiffly nods.
She hums softly, looking back to the kid. Despite being larger than Donnie, he seems to be younger. He's clearly been severely malnourished, though possibly on the slow mend from that. His skin is pale, and there is a large red footprint branded onto his head.
"We'll take it one step at a time, okay? You can set the pace." She crouches down, looking up at him. "My name is Carol. What is yours?"
He looks to the woman, uncomfortable with the idea of someone helping to take care of such a minor injury. He can really handle it on his own...
"... I'm Beautyberry, and I can really take care of this." He whines slightly as he insists weakly that he's fine.
She smiles patiently.
"I'm sure you can, hun. But I want to help. It's no big deal, I promise. You aren't wasting my time."
"Please, my son. She is a trained professional." He insists softly, stepping back slightly to avoid overcrowding Beautyberry.
"Let her help, you trust me? Trusting my mom is basically the same thing"
He whines quietly, shaking slightly. Nevertheless, he obediently unzips his jacket and shrugs it off of his shoulders so that Carol can see the wound.
"It's not that bad..." He mumbles.
She inspects the wound visually, cringing a little.
"It's a little bad, sweetheart." She corrects gently, humming softly. "I think it's going to need stitches."
He's quick to shake his head.
"Nonono, it's fine- It was my own fault I got injured, so I shouldn't waste resources if I can go without."
He sighs, stepping closer again and placing a hand gently against Beautyberry's back. The turtle flinches, barely suppressing a hiss as he jostles the injury.
"Beautyberry, we have discussed this. You are not a waste of resources."
"Bea.."
"Believe me"
"The only waste of resources will be on bee"
*april looked at the bite wound on her arm.. it looks pretty bad- maybe she should have her mom.. weird thinking that, carol take a look at it*
She glances over at her daughter, brow furrowing slightly.
"Huh?"
She catches sight of the bite, wincing in sympathy.
"Oh, dear. You'll have to let me take a look at that bite in a moment, too."
He shifts uncomfortably, but looks to April as attention is brought to her injury. He quickly moves to her side again, hanging slightly on her arm and looking closely at the bite, brows furrowed.
"Is this from Honeyberry??"
"Yup, he bit me twice, once when I thought you were following, the other when I actually had you"
"That asshole."
He frowns, clicking slightly. His tail swishes.
"I'm sorry..."
She lifts her eyebrows slightly before sighing.
"Alright, both of you come here. Let's get those wounds fixed up, okay?"
*April sighed, she was hoping for bea to get help, but its ironic if she doesn't her bites checked out*
"Bea, why are you sorry, it was bee who did it"
He shuts his snout, just nuzzling slightly against April.
"Here, I will show you where our medical supplies is kept." He offers, gesturing for his children and Carol to follow him.
She nods.
"That would be great, thank you."
*April sighed, rubbing beas shell slightly, looking at carol*
"Dad, did my brothers get their shots? I know Winnie did and golden"
He huffs.
"As with the others, Honeyberry and I had the bare minimum of preventative shots administered to us by the Foot clan."
She raises a brow slightly. The Foot clan, huh? What a... strange name for a clan. Fits with the giant Foot on his head, though.
He shrugs a bit, glancing back as he opens the door to the room.
"That is a question to double check with Draxum on. I do not know what all is needed and when."
She gestures for the kids to sit down, before going and looking for what she'll need in the supply cabinet. There's a bunch of things she doesn't recognize at all, but she does manage to find some hydropropol alcohol and a suture kit, along with some bandages.
"That turtle is in for a world of pain.. "
*April sighed, continuing to rub beas shell*
"Let's get this over with, okay bea?"
He wilts a little, but keeps his mouth shut. He wishes Honeyberry would just get along with the others.
She prepares some alcohol soaked rags and gently begins dabbing at April's bites. Once those are clean, she picks up the other rag and looks to Beautyberry.
"Are you ready?"
He huffs, tail flicking. He shrugs, turning slightly to give Carol a better look. He hisses slightly as she starts to clean it, flinching back before forcing himself to still and be quiet.
*April winced slightly, watching bea close and gently squeezing his hand to comfort bea*
Once both of their injuries are cleaned, she carefully stitches up the stab wound and bandages it up. Beautyberry sits eerily still and quiet as she does.
He huffs, pulling away as soon as Carol finishes, curling his tail around his legs as he perches beside April and watches the woman.
She sighs, giving the kid a reassuring smile before carefully stitching up a few spots on April's injuries and wrapping them up, too.
