Simplistic Joys

Christianity today has become so sugary sweet. “Let’s not debate. Let’s not contend for truth. They love Jesus–that’s good enough!” But you know that you can be sincere in loving God and simultaneously be sincerely wrong. Theology is avoided because it’s too intellectual and we don’t need that in the Kingdom–all you need is to love Jesus (yet in saying that you have created your own theology, and one that goes against Scripture). Truth is swept under the rug out of fear that it will cause division; but truth divides. Look at Jesus. Look at the apostles. God forbid that Christians tear down every accusation and false doctrine; isn’t that what Paul did in his letters?

It’s not surprising, although sad, to see a Christian who sits under the preaching of this type of weak and watered-down Christianity to be offended when presented the Gospel as it was presented in the Scriptures.
