Final Images

For the first part of my project I wish to explore portraiture using multiple exposures - however I also want these images to have some significance in regards to the place in which they were taken. To do this, I left it up to each of the subjects as to where the shoot would take place - I asked them to decide. I think this could have an interesting outcome because I do not know where the subject will pick and also why they have picked this chosen location. With the following images I will explain where they were taken and why the subject chose this place. I have chosen to show the following images as finals as I thought they worked best and were the most effective:

Naomi Pedersen:

Naomi chose for her images to be taken around Manchester city centre - because this is the place in which she can be found most. With having two jobs which are both based in Manchester this was the most convenient place to meet and explore for places to shoot and photograph in. Images were also taken in Manchester Victoria train station as this is close to where she works and travels home using the trains and metro links. I tried to use the surroundings around me as layers, such as the shop signs and travel boards to incorporate the sense of where we were in Manchester at the time with the images.

Danielle Baskerville:

Danielle’s photographs were taken around her home and then at the place which she works in Altrincham, Manchester. We couldn’t enter the premises of the football club because it was closed at the time due to there being no games on for the day. The middle images were shot on the short journey to Danielles work. I used the surroundings around us to layer over the initial photographs of Danielle - things such as the shower curtain in the home scene, bark from the trees around us and the posters on the football clubs wall.

Simone Trumpet:

These images of Simone were taken in and around Preston near the University buildings - they were taken over the course of the day during our full day of lectures on a Monday. The images were taken at this time because I usually spend most of my days in Preston with Simone. I tried to blend the church over her face to show only main facial features such as the eyes and mouth.

Tessa Hayes:

Tessa is currently living in Huddersfield because she is studying there at University, but her photos were taken in Manchester as this is her home town. She travels back each weekend to work in the H&M on market street and so I met her after to take these photographs. Most of them were taken in the high rise car park - on the roof levels above the Manchester Arndale and staircases. These locations were chosen because it was close to her work, also the clothing in which the subject wears is from H&M. So it is very much themed and related towards Tessas work place.

“Double Exposures” Ada beberapa orang yang menyakan hal ini terhadapku akhir-akhir ini ‘lagi suka banget double exposures ya?’ Aku jawab saja dengan tempo sesingkat-singkatnya ‘ya’. Dan jawaban itu ternyata belum memuaskan beberapa orang yang ingin tau lebih tentang hal ini kepadaku. ‘kenapa?’ Aku masih saja malas buat ngomong waktu itu tapi akhirnya aku mencoba menjelaskan kepada mereka. Seperti ini kira-kira: ‘hmm. Kenapa aku suka banget double exposures akhir-akhir ini? •Poin pertama, aku rasa karena hasilnya bagus banget dan tanpa editanpun warnanya bakal terlihat berbeda bahkan bisa lebih bagus daripada foto biasa 'single shoot’ yang banyak orang ambil saat ini. •Poin kedua, ketika aku mengambil beberapa foto dengan teknik ini mmmh i feel like membaur, ah apa sih bahasa inggrisnya membaur. Ya pokoknya aku merasa membaur dengan foto yang aku ambil. Huahaha membaur 😂 oke enough. Ya gitulah pokoknya. Intinya ntar aku bakal ngomong ke fotonya, oh gini toh foto yang aku harapin saat ini, oh gini toh foto yang sesuai kata hati saat ini, oh ini mood foto aku yang selama ini aku cari yang beda dari orang lain. •Poin ketiga yang paling eggghhhh grrrhhhh banget ni, karena aku belum punya LENSA TELE FUJINON yang harganya belum bisa aku gapai untuk saat ini. Hahahaha ini poin paling penting sebenarnya, poin diatas tadi cuman kayak biar orang lain taunya aku pinter dalam hal foto double exposures padahal aslinya, baru juga tau kemarin kalau ada fitur itu dikameraku itupun berkat manual book fuji. Nah hal ini yang menjadi sangat penting untukku. Ketika aku belum punya sesuatu yang belum bisa aku capai aku tidak memaksakan hal itu. Aku lebih seperti nrimo legowo, dan belajar fitur apa saja yang ada dikameraku saat ini. Dan terbukti fitur double exposures ini yang sangat aku cinta dikamera ini. Note : Belajar memanfaatkan sesuatu yang telah kamu punya itu sangat penting, dan yang harus dihindari adalah berbicara seperti “ah dia sih gear-nya bagus, wajar kalau hasilnya seperti itu” lalu kamu berhenti motret karena gear-mu nggak bagus (ini aku sempat alami kemarin). Tapi ternyata dengan belajar memanfaatkan sesuatu yang telah kamu punya seperti yang aku bilang tadi diatas, aku bisa menemukan apa yang aku cari selama ini apa yang aku suka selama ini dengan menggunakan apa yang aku punya saat ini. Tapi sih teteuuup berusaha dan berandai2 buat beli gear and etc. Hahaha Kalau aku sih gitu.

Di dalam sebuah dialog yang sangat aku suka, aku tidak pernah mengucapkan selamat tinggal. Bagiku ucapan itu seperti menjadikan tidak adanya dialog-dialog di kemudian pagi, di kemudian senja, pada akhirnya di kemudian malam. Aku tidak menyukai itu, cukup tidak menyukai itu. #malamlaili #monologmalam

Film bergenre drama karya Asghar Farhadi memang selalu dapat meraih simpati dari para kritikus film. Akhir2 ini saya di asah kembali oleh seseorang untuk menelaah lebih dalam mengenai filofosi karya-karya Asghar Farahadi salah satunya film ini. Dimana seorang Asghar Farahadi selalu menomor satukan naskah dalam sebuah film, kekuatan beliau bercerita mengenai konflik-konflik yang terjadi antar tokoh dapat dengan mudah ditemui pada setiap naskahnya. Naskah yang tersusun rapih menjadi sebuah kekuatan tersendiri untuk meraih nilai para kritikus film. Untuk nilai imdb pada film ini mendapatkan 84/100, metacritic mendapat 95/100, dan nilai dari saya dan team saya 5/5. Seperti film sebelum terbarunya "The Salesman", film ini juga berhasil mendapat penghargaan Best Foreign Film di ajang piala Oscar 2012 serta meraih nominasi di Best Original Screenplay di ajang yang sama. Ceritanya sebenarnya terbilang "sederhana" namun dengan naskah yg dibuat dan didukung para aktor dan aktris yang luar biasa membuat film ini menjadi sebuah film yang sangat hidup. Tidak ada tokoh protagonis maupun antagonis, karena masing-masing memiliki alasan yang masuk akal untuk berbuat baik dan berbuat buruk, sehingga membuat sebuah dilema kepada para penonton. Brilliant movie.
