Analyzation
In the daggers playlist aka tf!aj's playlist the song "Die Your Daughter" and I have crazy idea of what it could mean to aj's character The first two lyrics in this song are "Wear me down, it's not In my hands now" Now this might be crazy to think butttt the cinematic with the burning village could be tied to this. The reasons as to why I think is because later on in that stream/vod she was talking to Drift and she said, "I don't remember their face" (aka the person in the cinematic) which ties to the lyric "it's not, In my hands now". That lyric reads (to me) as letting go of control or responsibility basically saying she can't hold onto that memory, it's not up to her anymore. Whether its trauma blocking it or just time, she's saying I don't have a say in this anymore. That line from the cinematic ("I always knew you were weak") is basically someone saying you were always going to break. "Wear me down" is the process. What I believe is the constant pressure, the cutting remarks, and the undermining of aj that this person did. NEXT LYRICS : "Quit fucking around, no time to kill" This reminds me of her trying to calm herself down in today's stream (a chapter closes). That line could be her talking to herself, or Flick, or even the mystery person, but the way it reads is her forcing herself to stop spiraling. Quit fucking around, no time to kill, she's shutting down the part of her that wants to sit in it. She can't afford to break down, so she doesn't. NEXT LYRICS : "Getting older looks good on you, but god Someone make it stop Nature will run its course I'm left to pawn you off" This verse makes me think AJ knew someone who was dying or getting old, and she knew she couldn't stay with them forever. The reason I don't think it's about herself is the line "I'm left to pawn you off". It suggests she's not the one aging or dying, but the one who'll have to hand this person over to someone else (death, fate, a caretaker, or just the natural end). Which also connects to the lyric in this verse "Nature will run its course". NEXT LYRICS : "I will die your daughter" NOW THIS lyric alone has so many meanings but for aj. I feel like it means that she is their daughter, and she will die their daughter, in the worst sense, because she never fully escapes what they made her (aka they gave her, her horrible coping mechanism). But also in the best sense, because she owns it, and maybe even loves what came of it. This could not be true and im horribly wrong but oh well. It was find to do this :3
