Not an ask but thank you so much in general for having this blog and sharing a passion for 2D1N. It’s a niche thing and finding a community that also loved it was amazing. Like you, I am getting older and my priorities are shifting; along with everything going on, I too wonder if my youth is slipping away. Do you think we can ever be “adults” but still have the joy from our youth again?
Ooof... that last question might be a bit too deep for my puny brain to find an inspiring answer to ha!
I guess it depends what definition you want to give to the word "adult"?
I generally imagine that I'm probably older than most in this fandom so I'm gonna speak from the heart and from experience. I apologies in advance if it sounds condescending, it trully is not intended:
The way I see it, being an adult can mean whatever the hell you want to make of it! For me, it basically boils down to only a few things : 1. Being financially independent. 2. Being responsible for my actions and their consequences. 3. Being mindful not to harm others around me.
That's it! The rest is of negligible quantity in my eyes. It took me a while to reach that point but it's been quite liberating to be honest. Now if I want to do things that would generally be considered childish or pointless by the rest of the population (for somebody my age at least) because I enjoy it? You can be damn sure I'll do it anyway and won't pay any heed to their frowny faces!
Me not updating the blog any longer doesn't have much to do with it maybe being a silly hobby, but rather comes from a need to spend my free time on exploring other horizons. Never stop doing things you like because you feel that is what you ought to as a responsible adult!! (Unless those things are illegal of course... in which case definitely stop doing those things and be a responsible adult instead hehe).
In the crazy world we live in, I feel it's important to carve yourself an inner garden where you can do shit that make you happy no matter how ridiculous they may sound to others. Just to be able to relax and breathe for a little bit you know.
Anyway, sorry for the long rambling...
Thanks a lot for your continuous support and your kind words! I hope you find a path in your life that gives you happiness and fullfilment ^_^
