So,,, Day 3 Story thing for Makki Week yay xD

Nikki wasn’t letting go, that was for sure. Maybe it was because of the accident she remembered from their first time, out on an adventure like this. Just the two of them. She didn’t want to lose him, in a lot of ways. She hadn’t said anything about her feelings yet, but it was hard not to know they were there. However, she was too afraid she’d lose him if she said anything, and was instead holding onto every moment they had, just as tight as the grip on his hand.

“Gees, Nikki. Any tighter and you’ll turn me white,” Max said, but he didn’t entirely mind. Oddly enough, he cracked a small smile. Nikki didn’t find it entirely funny, loosening the grip somewhat. She didn’t say a word.

This certainly didn’t go unnoticed by Max. He raised an eyebrow, before stepping up to her side. “Hey, what’s up? You’ve been pretty quiet this entire time.” If anything, he would’ve thought the walk would’ve had her bouncing in excitement – and he kind of missed that, if he had to be honest. Now that they were both teenagers, Max should’ve expected change. But that didn’t mean he had to like it. Regardless, Nikki just wasn’t Nikki without… enthusiasm. Though he couldn’t really expect that of her all the time.
