This online match she was in was easy, however, things suddenly started getting intense. She thought she was becoming a pro at this. No one else had beaten her before, and some complained that she was cheating using mods, which wasn’t true at all. She just had a good strategy and a good team to back her up.

This new guy was wrecking her, though, and she almost yelped when she heard a knock on her door and a familiar voice. “Ngh, give me ten minutes! You can come in, though!” She yelled loud enough to hear her, and her eyes focused on her keyboard.

“Come on...!” Fingers glided over the keys at an incredible speed and her mouse clicked like crazy until... she won. By sheer luck and some miracle, lifting her hands in the air.

It did not take long for Teddie to reach his stall of interest. When the bear had something on his mind, it was difficult to get it out. Sometimes that was unfortunate. But for right now his mind told him to catch some goldfish.

“But Yuki-chan, what if they run out of goldfish? We’ve got to make sure we’re ahead of the crowd!” He gently squeezed Yukiko’s hand while he had the chance. 

Teddie knelt down and took in the intrigued of so many goldfish swimming so closely in a singe container. A few of the fish shined from the lights in the stall, making them an even greater prize. Already he was locked on to a single fish’s path along its limited space to quietly enjoy. It reminded him of going to the river to observe the fish. 

“Scooping fish out with this? Sounds easy! Here I go~!” 

Judging by the poi’s thin material, it was most likely going to break easily. If that was the case, Teddie decided to go for a speedy approach to make use of what little time he had. After doing a fast swatting motion with the poi in the air, he was ready to hit the water. He did a fast horizontal motion to corral the fish toward his bowl but ended up using too much force and breaking it before a fish went into the bowl. 

“Can I have another one?”

She snickered a little at his question. “Don’t worry, I’m sure they have more.” The goodness in his heart was true, even if he worried about the smallest things sometimes. Him squeezing her hand felt nice, too. Once they got there, the Priestess observed him attempt to play the game. His declaration of it being ‘easy’ was cute, and by the looks of it, his poi broke pretty quickly.

She would laugh a little, but Teddie could be disheartened by it, so she held it back.

“Aw, that’s too bad. Here.” She handed him another poi to give him another chance. It wouldn’t be fun otherwise. “You have to hold it tightly and make slow movements in order to catch one, but not too much! It’s not very strong as you saw. I can hold your hand to guide you if you want. I’ve won only twice in the past... but it still counts as experience!” She was just a little girl back then having fun, and she was still holding onto that spark. “Let’s do it together, okay?”

“Y-Y-Yuki-chan?!”

Maybe a slight vocal overreaction to something he honestly should know, such a reaction of surprise to the statement was accompanied by a stare, though one quickly broken, he looks off to the side just seconds later. How was it that things even trailed to that topic…?

Then again, he was never good at acting like things were fine when they weren’t. The only difference was that he got less open about it.

“I-I know, but….” In of itself, the idea of bringing his problems to another was something that stacked on top of the problem to start with! A core fear of his, one that always came back in some way or another, even if the how and why of it differs from time to time.

That eternal worry of would he, somehow, ever be left behind? He almost feels sort of silly for worrying about it so much with people that he knows wouldn’t ever do that…

Not that he’s willing to vocalize it was that issue again just yet.

It wasn’t like Teddie to be so sad, not that he wasn’t allowed to. Even Chie faced that problem sometimes, but he was different. Always a bundle of joy, if not considered irritable at best. Like the kid of the group, he even misbehaved or said the wrong things without meaning to.

This was a lot more serious than that as his existence had always been a mystery and when he disappeared, they searched for him. It’s clear that he was afraid of being left behind. The serious but sympathetic look on her face was there to let him know that she cared about him.

“It’s okay. I understand why you feel that way, but it’s never good to bottle up your emotions for too long. You can talk to us about it or whenever you’re feeling sad. Everyone’s scared of something deep down. Like me, for example. I’m scared of being stuck here and never accomplishing what I truly want to do with my life, only abiding to my parents’ wishes of inheriting the inn.”

well done - you did things right. this may seem like a boring answer, but i promise it isn't. you believe in goodness and you believe in doing good, and through everything, you work to keep that goodness. you have seen so much blood, and your instinct is always to stitch. you grew and fought and won, and i'm glad you did, because someone had to. i'm glad you kept believing in the world you were trying to save. you are far braver than most could ever be.
