I'm normal about Doctor Who continuity, which means I disregard fanon that contradicts what's seen on screen (single-hearted First Doctor, the Deca, Romana returning to Gallifrey) but also anything televised that's silly (the Master's drumming since childhood, the Hybrid, the Timeless Child). i used to live in st. john’s, nl, and, in late spring to early summer, it was not uncommon for a giant iceberg to float slowly by just outside the harbor. they would mention it on the news and radio. they took hours or, sometimes, days to go by. and, when it happened, it would make the whole town colder.. like ice in a glass of water. and, sometimes,… they would groan. as they passed.

Contemplating coining the term CRAP (CRazy-Acey-in-sPacey) to describe the phenomena of people making purposefully exaggerated blogs on Tumblr parodying a group they don’t like while pretending to be genuine to garner backlash and further stoke hate and then people taking it excruciatingly seriously despite it being an obvious psyop. Transmascvoicesproject? That’s crap. Don’t bother with crap, don’t step in it just to try to get rid of it because all you’ll do is spread it around everywhere and get accused of being the one responsible. Just point it out so others can avoid it and leave it at that.

here at the sandwich shop, we’ve started to notice some people who are new to sandwiches aren’t used to meat and cheese between two slices of bread. they find this practice strange and confusing. that’s why we’ve decided to cut the bread out all together. from now on, we’ll just serve slices of meat and cheese on a plate.

we know that many of our loyal sandwich shop customers have been coming here for years to buy our delicious sandwiches. but some people don’t “get” sandwiches, and we need to try and appeal to them with an easier-to-understand meal format. we will no longer be serving sandwiches. all of our food will just be cold cuts on a paper plate. we love our customers and appreciate your understanding <3

Yes we know Craig's Cold Cuts down the street does cold cuts better than we do and has millions of customers. That's why we need to switch to cold cuts, to get their customers. We hope that our long-time sandwich loving customer base will be patient in this transition to cold cuts and welcome the certain influx of Craig's Cold Cut customers who will surely come here to enjoy our worse cold cuts with you, our sandwich-deprived customer base, whom we value so much.

Real thing that changed how i write: I started asking "what does this character think is wrong with them" and separately "what is actually wrong with them." Those two things are almost never the same. She thinks she's too much. She's actually terrified of being too little. He thinks he's bad at commitment. He's actually just never met someone he trusted enough. The gap between their diagnosis of themselves and the real thing, that's your character arc right there. you don't have to explain it. just write both.
