idk what neurodivergent young adult needs to hear this but you are NOT supposed to give 100% at your job. I've gotten more promotions and raises since I started giving 40-60%, which my evil CEO uncle informed me is what bosses actually expect when they say 110%. My mental health has improved tremendously. I've spent 2 out of 5 workdays secretly writing my novel for the last 2 years and I've never been more respected and appreciated. Also--when you see glaring wasteful errors in the company's operating systems, say absolutely nothing! Embrace inefficiency. It is your friend in this capitalist hellscape.

Gonna vent about work because I can.

We share a reception desk. There are two full-time employees for each shift, and two ECBs for the weekend. So six total employees for the week. Essentially three days on, four off.

This desk faces the lobby so it should be tidy enough for presentation purposes. We don't really get lunch breaks,so we do eat at the desk. Three of these employees leave chip bags open and unsealed candy in the drawers and files. They leave this on their days off so there is food left out for a week at a time.

I cleaned and bagged everything. Spent an hour making it hygenic.What is still here on my next Sunday shift gets thrown. I will be going to my house supervisor about it if it happens again and stupid things will happen because adults can't adult.

This was brought up in the last staff meeting where all were present, including half of our managers. The pesticide guys mentioned the open food and if the accreditation people see it,we get slapped.

I am not a clean freak,but I have my limits, especially at a place where germs go to party.

I recently bought glasses to help with glare and the dreaded 12hrs of computer screens. I already wear contacts,too. So it feels weird when I take off my glasses and have suspiciously good vision.

I love being able to librarian glare at bitches with 20/20 sight.Added benefit.
