Why? Why does lance have to change everything to be with Allura?

Many people wanted altean lance but not like this. Not where he just inherits a new race because his girlfriend dies. Not where he is reminded of her every time he looks in the mirror. That’s not cute. That’s romanticized bullshit.

He literally cannot move on from her and is evident when he becomes a fucking farmer when at the beginning he was a pilot with dreams of the stars and the motivation to do anything and everything. This isn’t him ‘growing up’ either. You can grow up without losing everything.

I would argue he does grow up in the series and his arc just leaves him sad.

Lance accepting Keith to lead is him growing up

Leaving blue for red because he’s needed elsewhere is him growing up.

Getting over his childish ‘rivalry’ is him growing up

A character arc isn’t beating them down until they can never move on.

Look a good number of us Klance shippers have headcanons about what Klance would be like, but most of them are just for fun. Have you actually thought for a second about what it would truly be like? What Klance would be like on your screen?

Like they would tease each other constantly

especially Keith

They’d run off together on missions practically beaming

They’d have playful little fights

They’d run off if they were spooked

Lance would try to drag Keith into stupid little chants

They’d go to the pool together

And sometimes things would get more serious

Like Keith would trust him to lead the team.

If one of them was hurt they’d be worried and impatient to see them 

They’d reassure eachother

If they were in danger they’d choose to save each other over themselves

Even if keith was mad because lance called him a bad artist

They’d smile at each other so damn much.

And we’d have a thousand more moments like this

It would be so fluffy.
