so in s1e4 of my new favorite show ride or die, our badass assassin points a gun at the man she’s been sent to kill and her hand shakes and she’s torn between the man who raised her to kill and the woman she’s with now who asked her not to kill anymore. and i couldn’t stop thinking about that moment in leverage s4e18 where eliot points a gun at dubenich and his hand shakes and he’s torn between who he used to be and who he is now. and i. aughhh. I need to write a leverage/ride or die crossover stat.

watched one episode of ride or die and I am immediately in love. wdym we have one hot woman who strides down the stairs like she owns the place and can probably kill someone in a hundred different ways, and another equally hot equally badass woman who is introduced by deftly plying a security guard with tea to get an edge in an antiques show and is masterful at political maneuvering, and they’ve known each other for 20 years and have delightful chemistry and say I love you in a way that is maybe not platonic nor romantic but a secret third thing. icons.

I think you’d love Eliot Spencer from the TV show “Leverage” To describe him inlanguage of your blorbo he’s like…a Bucky Lite who is farther along his healing journey.

To describe Leverage it is a show where the bad guys are the best good guys you can get, where a team of criminals (a Mastermind, a Grifter, a Hitter, a Thief, and a Hacker) take down corrupt CEOs and political figures in elaborate and entertaining schemes to help people who don’t have the leverage. Eliot is the team Hitter, his job is to punch, get punched, and protect his team. He also has my favorite recurring bit in the whole show. He also is an amazing chef who loves to cook. Joseph Cheng: Invented an AI that could identify people from just a fraction of their face, could "predict" crime, and could notify police officers of the location of anyone suspected of a crime. Also put those trying to escape abusive cop ex-partners in serious harm.

Travis Zilgram:

Long version: Rich asshole college student who offered homeless veterans a chance to make $50 a day if they underwent an experiment to live in basically a prison for a week with extremely loud music, below 0 temperatures, a professionally trained interrogator, and guards with tasers. He caused a man to have a heart attack and then threw his body in the river. Also made Hardison run around campus in his underwear and arranged for one of his goons to kidnap him and hit him with a stick.

Short version: Attempted to create new methods of causing PTSD by kidnapping homeless vets and forcing them to live in inhumane conditions. Hazed Hardison.

#this one is hard because zilgram is an asshole who literally killed someone and also had his goons beat up hardison #HOWEVER #cheng is an embodiment of a lot of really present fears about surveillance and ai and facial recognition cameras being everywhere #so to me he represents a lot more than just what he literally did #if he hadn’t been stopped he would fully be like the flock guys #so I vote cheng #worst mark tourney #leverage
