Back at it again with ANOTHER Malev oc!!!

Would you believe me if I said he came to me in a dream? Because He Did, and I later learned that he already existed in some form in the Lovecraftian mythos so he is Mine Now

For all you lore nerds out there, BOY have I got some tasty shit for you

The doorman is a fragment of Yog Sothoth that he sent to guard The Ultimate Gate from inside Azathoth’s dream.

They began as Lovecraft’s canon “Tawil at ‘Umur” (as seen in “The Silver Key”) but has taken on many forms over the years, including but not limited to: Charon (Ferryman of the river Styx), the Grimm (a large black dog from English folklore, said to guide the dead to the afterlife) and now currently “The Doorman”.

The Doorman’s purpose is to guard The Ultimate Gate and guide those worthy through it but that has only happened a total of twelve times (see The Silver Key) and in the meantime, they use The Silver Key to essentially link any entrance to any exit and use this to travel through reality at their whims.

Without the key, they are unable to travel and can only move like they once did if summoned. They are also considerably easier to kill as they can’t escape. Upon death, The Doorman would return to Yog Sothoth and the being would create another avatar to be their key. It is unclear as to whether all these avatars are truly the “same person”, but they are all united by their purpose to guard the gate.
