  “Ah, Charles trusts now I must trust if he trusts you.” Hank sighed. “Just please tell him I have something for him, to help his headaches.”

“How do we know your little experiment is reliable?”

“I’m sorry, Erik. I’m just really not in the mood at all for this. I’ve learnt far too much about my own future and I’m a little concerned that what I now isn’t the end of what lies ahead.”

“I thought we were going to avoid that as much as possible...”

  “I don’t trust you, Erik. You should know that.”

“Charles trusts me.”

“I just– I’m perfectly fine, Erik, I just would really like to find a way to go home.”

“We can always just— Oh, right... Home. Well, we have two options, Charles. We can either enjoy a night out and try to find a way back tomorrow morning, or we can leave now.”

“What an adorable lab rat you make, Charles.”

“You’re not my date, Erik, don’t be ridiculous and I am not being cold.”

“That’s what a plus-one is, isn’t it? You’re not acting like yourself.”

“You’re my plus one to a charity auction, Erik. That is what is going on.”

“So why are you treating your date so coldly?”

“It would appear your jokes aren’t all that amusing either.”

“Fair enough, I suppose. Are you going to tell me what’s going on?”

“Right, well. You go and find some drinks I’ll find someone else to talk to.”

“I was only joking, Charles.”

“You don’t look it, dear. Now, stop complaining.”

“I’ll stop complaining when I find the free drinks you promised me.”

  “That’s none of your business, Erik.”
