this authorized tove jansson biography claiming moomin and snufkin have a kiss scene in the 1949 stage play version of comet in moominland, written by tove and directed by vivica bandler. I’m not really sure how else to interpret this since they’re the ONLY characters in this scene. my only explanation against it is that maybe it’s just a major mistranslation, but it seems very unlikely with how straightforward it is and there’s very little info about this play online
