Hello, my name is Aster not that it will be familiar to you, what will be more familiar might be my title of Merlin. Yes, another Merlin that through the grapevine of messing with Timelines and other Merlins heard about your Study and had to reach out.

It is quite peculiar to me to see how many different Merlins there are, us all having started as the same and yet we are all so.. different? I think it is delightful. But that brings me to my first question I wanted to ask, there are so many Merlins, with so many relationships.

Pray tell, how is yours to your own Merlin? I am curious with all the different things I have heard and maybe going snooping in different timelines is not the best way to deal with the grief of having lost mine a long while ago but, well, I took for granted what I had and now I am just glad to see reflections have a chance to do better.

Aster... no, indeed. I have never heard your name before. So, you are one of the many pulled in by the gravity of my existence? How interesting.

Merlin and I were friends in our youth. We have long lost contact to each other, so 'acquaintances' is a term more suitable. I have had the pleasure of meeting Merlin again recently, so perhaps we have chance to rekindle our relationship.

I take it then, that you haven't as much luck with your relationship to my counterpart? I should warn you, that you will find neither true answers nor solace here.

A four armed, serpentine Hypofiend pulls himself up, standing as best he can, a golden glowing wound shines through his shirt, almost pulsating in time with the lashes of his tongue, taking in the room, it flares as his bright eyes lock on to the Chief Court Mage)

“You!”

(His voice and face, through the abyssal corruption twisting them, feel eerily familiar...)

“How did you get back here! How did you change back!”

(He lunges at the mage but stops himself, recoiling and curling his tail closer to him, all of his hands shake; with rage? With fear? With sadness and hurt?)

“Hghh, dammit- Are you happy now? Now that I am finally beneath you… assss a monssster…”

“Wassss it worth it, Ccccyran?”

(The hypofiend waits for an answer, twisting a ring around one of his fingers muttering under his breath)

“...Traitor...”
