1. Are people interested in another Secret Santa this year? Since the manga is ending and the fandom seems to grow smaller all the time, this is kinda important to knowâŚ
2. I canât promise I will be hosting the event if there are enough wishes for it. December is an extremely exhausting time for me. But, if anyone wishes to run the event instead, or help out, Iâll be glad to assist.
Thank you all for your responses. Iâve decided to do a New Yearâs exchange to work around deadlines better. Iâm creating the blog at the moment so more information should be up soon!

I know I already made a post like this yesterday, but thank you all. This was my first time organizing a secret santa and I had no idea what to expect. But I personally think this was a great succes. We had a nice amount of people joining and barely anyone stepping out. The gifts were all beautiful and I hope you guys enjoyed every single one of them. Also thanks to the people who helped me out as substitute (Iâm really grateful you guys could help me in such a short time).Â

I was a bit unsure for a time what I wanted to do and what I could do in time, i definitely wanted to do something that contained a bit more than just one of the things you like? And since I had no idea how to do something sappy (although I feel you) I settled on this, since Magi and Disneys Aladdin also fit so well. I took the infamous balcony scene as reference but changed it a bit, I hope you like it <3
Also, I hope, you have a marvelous Christmas, spend with your dears and loved ones and a good start into the new year soon! <3

1st Bonus: Valefor Djinn Equip
I at first wanted to draw a bigger Valefor Illustration so I tried to get a sense of how to draw this Djinn Equip. Didnât went with that idea but I thought Iâd still line and colored it since I planned to add it as a bonus from the start actually :âD
2nd Bonus: Santa Ja'far
Okay, I just wanted to do something cute and Christmas themed. And smol Ja'far is just too adorable.
Summary: Hakuren decides that itâs finally time to try to save Koumei from his weak body, and takes Hakuyuu & Kouen on a trip into the mountains to find a cure.
for Annciel7
Hakuren glances around the room surreptitiously, trying to see if anyone else is as bored as he is. Hakuyuu looks calm and focused, but with him that could mean anything; he has always been the best at maintaining a respectful facade. Kouen is sitting straight up, rapt with attention, but thatâs not surprising. Heâs the one who thought they should attend a meeting about historical record preservation. Koumei, on the other hand, looks like heâs nodding off. Oh, no.
Koumei is just a little too far for Hakuren to reach, or heâd try to nudge him awake. Instead, he can only watch as his head slowly falls forward, bit by bit, until itâs obvious that heâs napping.
The speaker drops a scroll and it loudly clatters across the floor. Thereâs awkward shuffling and apologies but more importantly, Koumei jerks up, obviously wide awake now, and Hakuren breathes a sigh of relief.
The meeting continues, moving onto proper storage regulations for older scrolls, and at least Kouen is happy. Hakuren can be excited for that, even if heâd rather be anywhere else. This isnât exactly the most exciting part of government to him.
Koumei coughs loudly, badly faking any attempts to be subtle. Oh. Oh, Hakuren hopes this is going where he thinks it is. Koumei is inadvertently going to rescue them all from this meeting.
âI donât feel goodâŚâ Koumei says quietly, coughing at the end.
Kouen brushes him off. âWe are in a meeting,â he hisses at his younger brother, and Hakuren watches on with concern.
Koumei coughs again, and it shakes his whole frame. He tugs on Kouenâs sleeve, trying to get his attention. âI think I-â
And then he collapses in an elaborate display, the meeting screeching to a halt around him, and Hakuyuu and Hakuren rush to his side. The speaker pauses mid sentence and drops his scroll again, and the noise gets lost in the panicked sounds from the other court members in attendance.
âThe only thingâŚâ Koumei says weakly, stirring in Hakurenâs arms. âThe only cureâŚthat I know ofâŚis bedrestâŚand my pigeonsâŚand some booksâŚâ
Hakuren pats his head and hugs him close. âYou all heard him! We have to get him to his chambers!â
âWe should find a cure for Koumeiâs weak body,â Hakuren proposes. Theyâre standing around outside Koumeiâs chambers, waiting for news from the doctors, and it just seems to silly to stand by uselessly. âYou know, how heâs always tired and ill? I think it might be something-â
âHeâs just lazy,â Kouen says gruffly, cutting him off.
Hakuren shakes his head. âNo, no, donât say that. Weâd be happy to help.â
âIâm saying it because itâs true,â Kouen clarifies.
Hakuren gestures at the window, in what he hopes is the direction he wants. âIâve heard of someone who can heal any illnesses, no matter what, you just have to journey to where they live, deep within the mountains.
Hakuyuu nods. âI think Iâve heard of this healer.â
Kouen shakes his head again. âNo, I assure you, my brother does not need this kind of treatment and attention.â
âNo, I think itâs necessary,â Hakuren says, grinning. He wants a way to escape the palace for a few days, and a relaxing trip up to the mountains would be a perfect excuse. Maybe he can even convince Hakuyuu to come along and actually unwind for once.
âPrince Hakuren, I wouldnât want you to waste precious resources on my brotherâs laziness,â Kouen says, but Hakuren is having none of it.
âItâs not a problem! Really, you donât have to be so modest. Weâre happy to help,â Hakuren tells him.
âWe should leave him to the court doctors for now,â Hakuyuu says. âAnd prepare for our trip.â
Success! Hakuyuu apparently decided to come along all on his own. That makes Hakurenâs job easier; now all he has to do is focus on relaxing. And maybe convincing Kouen to calm down some.
Kouen looks scandalized. âIâm sorry about Koumei! He doesnât need-â
âNope!â Hakuren interrupts. âNo more complaints from you. This is what family is for.â He slings an arm around Kouenâs shoulders and leads him away from Koumeiâs chamber. âYou should come along, too. I donât want you just laying about and fretting over poor Koumeiâs illness.â
Kouen shakes his head. âThis really isnât necessary. I-â
âWell, more sunshine, er, travel for me and Yuu then,â Hakuren replies. âWeâre off to prepare!â
Hakuren shoulders his pack and raises a hand to shade his eyes from the sun. Itâs a bright, clear day, warm but not sweltering; itâs perfect for traveling. Theyâre going on foot, at Hakurenâs insistence. He said that itâs because theyâll be less noticeable and it will make the mountain ascent easier, but mostly itâs so no one else tags along.
Kouen, however, has other plans. âYou cannot go through with this,â he insists, bowing before him and Hakuyuu. âThis is too much.â
Hakuyuu waves a hand. âIf it worries you so much, you are welcome to come along.â
âThere are things that must be done around the palace, and I cannot just run off-â
âYouâd be helping you dear little brother,â Hakuren says. âWhat could be more important than that?â
Kouen looks over at Hakuyuu, who nods in agreement, before scowling. âI suppose that is true. But this isnât as serious as you two seem to think, and I want to make sure thisâŚsupposed healer understands that.â
Hakuren shrugs. âSure, whatever you say!â
Kouen brings up the rear, grumbling the whole time. Hakuren tries to tune him out and instead focus on the positive parts of the day. Theyâre out of Rakushou, out of stuffy clothes and meetings, and enjoying the fresh air is even better than expected. He glances over to watch Hakuyuu and grins. He hasnât seen his brother look so honestly relaxed in far too long. They really need to do this more often.
âWe should head back,â Kouen begins, and Hakuyuu shakes his head.
âItâll be good for you to spend some time out of the palace, Kouen,â Hakuyuu says firmly.
Hakuren laughs at Kouenâs frown and throws an arm around his shoulders to try to calm him down. âThereâs no shame in enjoying yourself sometimes.â
âItâs not worth wasting time and resources on such frivolous things.â
âBut enjoyment isnât frivolous,â Hakuren insists. âIt soothes the soul and the mind, and leaves us clear headed and open to our true potential. It is only when the mind is empty that our actions can be full.â
Hakuyuu chuckles. âYou sound almost like a philosopher.â
Hakuren sticks his tongue out and gives Hakuyuu a cheeky smile in reply. âYou and Kouen arenât the only studious men in the family.â He turned around, walking backwards with his chest puffed out. Why, Iâd say that Iâm-â Hakuren squawks as he falls over a bush, windmilling his arms in a desperate attempt to stay upright.
Hakuyuu laughs at him.
"Ooof⌠at least I landed on something softâŚ.â Hakuren replies in the split second before he realizes the something soft he landed on is a bear.
The bear roars mightily, and Hakuren goes scrambling backwards as it rears up.
Oh, shit.
Thinking fast, he pulls out a magical item and sets it off, surrounding himself with flames, and the bear goes running. Thatâs a nifty trick. Hakuyuu whistles at him and claps, while Kouen looks even more worried.
âNice show, Ren,â Hakuyuu says as Hakuren slowly disperses the flames.
He grins. âThanks! You know Iâm always here to save your ass.â
Kouen grips the hilt of his sword. âWe need to return to Rakushou. There is no reason for you to risk your safety out here while my brother lazes in bed under false pretenses!â He gestures angrily. âThis is no place for you two!â
Hakuren shoots his brother a knowing look. âShould we tell him?â
âI think we might have to.â
He shrugs. âYour call, Hakuyuu.â
Hakuyuu clasps a hand on Kouenâs shoulder. âWe know that Koumei is faking it, or exaggerating at the very least. But Ren and I both wanted some time away from Rakushou.â
âI donât understand,â Kouen says, scowl deepening. âWhy are you going to a healer if you know heâs faking his illness?â
Hakuren gestures at the beautiful countryside. âThis! Some freedom! Weâre not going to a healer, weâre going to enjoy the great outdoors without anyone bugging us!â
âYou knowingly lied to the court to get a free day?â
âSure did,â Hakuren answers, still grinning.
Kouen stares, looking between the two of them. âAnd you both knew this?â
Hakuyuu nods. âI do like time off occasionally. Itâs not an unreasonable want.â
He continues to stare, looking lost and confused as he begins to fully comprehend the situation. âI need to sit down.â
Hakuren laughs agains. âIt canât be that surprising! Weâre human too.â
âItâs just so irresponsible. I can understand wanting personal time, but deceiving-â he begins, moving to sit down on a nearby rock. Itâs half covered in ivy, shiny green leaves reflecting the sun.
âKouen!â Hakuyuu yells, interrupting him. Kouen pauses, and Hakuyuu points at the sprawling ivy. âPoison ivy. You shouldnât sit on that.â
Kouen looks at it cautiously, before an unsettling smile slowly forms on his face. âI think I have an idea for aiding Koumeiâs illness.â
They return from the âmountainsâ the following day, just as the sun is beginning to set and the skies are rich purples and reds. Theyâre all in better spirits, especially Kouen, and Hakuren is pleased with their success. Kouen marches them directly to Koumeiâs chambers, their bounty firmly in hand.
Koumei is napping when they arrive, scrolls and pigeon feathers strewn across his bed around him, and Hakuren almost feels bad for his fate. Almost.
âWe have returned,â Kouen announces, loud enough that Koumei startles awake.
âWh-what?â he asks sleepily, rubbing at his eyes. âHello, brother.â
Kouen strides over to his bed and holds out his hand, poultice presented in his palm. âThis has been prepared from herbs given to us by the great healer of the mountains, to aid your illness.â
Koumei blinks at it, obviously confused at the offering, before taking it from Kouen. âI- Thanks. Iâll use this later.â
âNo, I insist you try it now. Hakuyuu and Hakuren went to great lengths to find this for you, and you should honor their sacrifices.â
Hakuyuu nods seriously, and Hakuren does his best not to laugh. Heâs impressed with Kouen for keeping up the ruse this long, and heâs not going to be the one to ruin it now.
âWell, I guess thereâs no harmâŚâ
Kouen smiles, and itâs still unsettling. âYou apply it to your face.â
Koumei sticks his finger in and smears a generous amount to one cheek, before he screeches in pain. Red blossoms across his cheek, the beginnings of an incredibly itchy rash, and Kouen laughs deeply. Hakuren canât contain himself now and loses his calm, laughing as well and leaning on Hakuyuu for support, who has somehow managed to contain himself enough that heâs only chuckling.
âYou shouldnât deceive your family,â Kouen finally says, once the laughter dies down.
Koumei whines and scratches at his face, but manages a small smile. âAt least Iâll have to stay in bed until this clears up!â
@silvertheredhairedstrangerâs gift to @goldenmorpho
hey there Goldenmorpho i was your secret santa this year !! had a lot of fun working on this gift, despite how busy and medical the holiday season ended up turning for me aha. hope you like it !
But Then There Was You
[ or, a sharryamu tale, as told by titus alexius ]
-
He wanted to bang his head against the table and grind the cloth with his teeth. But the shadow of a hand approaching him made him instead sit up a bit straighter, the palm of his companion dropping lightly to his shoulder. Titus ducked his head and grumbled, a mix of incoherent words that the other had a hard time grasping.
Sphintus tipped his head and let his arm fall. âWhat? You knew it was going to be difficult. Those two have to be the most oblivious people on the planet.â
He looked up suddenly, blue eyes glaring ferociously at the air before calming down into a dull, tired gaze, and made to stand. He wandered over to the small balcony connected to the room, needing a bit of fresh air.
This had started three days ago.
-
âWhat do you mean itâs flawed?! My plan is perfect.â Titus leaned back in his seat, arms crossed, as if that would prove it. Across from him, Sphintus just sighed, and a small collection of generals listening in stifled their groans.
âFine, whatever,â Sphintus told him, turning his head away from the other. âGo for it,then.â
âHmm.â Titus nodded and suddenly leaned forward in his seat, stretched somewhat over the table, and banged his fists against the wood, eyes sparkling. âI will. And itâs going to work so well, and by the end everyone will be happy.â
âAs long as Muu doesnât tell them the point of all this, at least,â he said, turning his gaze to the entryway where the generalâs red hair could be seen peeking out. He came forward sheepishly, rubbing his head, and a glimmer of rukh beside him just let him know how he was caught.
âNo no, Iâll try not to interfere,â he told the magi.
âGood.â Titus clapped his hands together. âThen letâs get to inviting them! The king of Heliohapt and the chancellor of Magnostadt.â
-
Day one hadnât been anything memorable, since Yamuraiha had arrived first by a bit of time and spent it wandering around the city. Sharrkan had shown up around dusk, and almost immediately retired.
What was interesting was day two, when the pair caught sight of each other at mealtime. It was . . a mix of events Titus was still frazzled about. Lots of blushing and shouting and admiring and . . the two, being annoyed at each other? What a relationship.
Not the one he was going for, though. And it was like this most of the day. Bantering and some happy moments and then back to bickering.
Day three. That would be the day for sure.
-
It hadnât turned out well at all and Titus decided he was done sulking. There was still time left.
He left the room in a whirlwind, leaving Sphintus alone and confused, and hurried to one of the gardens. The two had a sort of rivalry going that heâd hoped to take advantage of, and as it turned out, was actively going on. The magi hid himself in some shrubbery and sat down to watch.
âI did have a new spell I wanted to test, I guess . .â Yamuraiha hummed in thought. âNot that youâd be interested.â
Beside her, Sharrkan shrugged, the action quite off-putting. His fingers meddled with the cover of his sword, needing something to do. (They hadnât allowed him to bring his snakes into the palace. Upon questioning why the other Heliohapt native got to have the privilege, he was told âSphintus is a stay-in here in Reim. Plus, heâs my healer. Iâm quite worried about what he would do should I try and take her away.â
âHer?â
'Yes. Her. Her name is Kukulklan.â
Damn Carmens and their damn female snakes.)
At least it kept weight off of his shoulders. âNah. Letâs see it,â he told her, stepping back.Â
Glancing over for proof of genuineity, she was pleasantly shocked to see he actually looked a bit interested. So she expanded her staff to full form (downsizing had become a needed asset when traveling became popular) and put it in front of her form, closing her eyes to concentrate.
It turned out to be a bubble. A bigger bubble that generated smaller, livelier bubbles the more magoi was pushed into it. Titus was enthralled. And then he had an idea.
Sharrkan reached out to tap one, scrunching up his face when it bounced off and continued floating. âThe hell?â
âThey do pop, it just requires a bit of force,â Yamu told him, still focusing on the bubble. âTry punching one.â
He did that and it erupted into even smaller bubbles, these easily bursting in the light breeze. âWow.â
Wow indeed. And it was about to get more so. Titus closed his eyes and let he flow of rukh around him envelop, twist, and then . . sent a spurt straight into Yamuraihaâs staff, the bigger bubble immediately churning out smaller ones faster, filling the area.Â
âOh!â Yamu tightened her grip on her staff, not expecting the burst, but a smile formed on her face nonetheless.Â
âWh-This is amazing!â Sharrkan spun towards her. âYouâre amazing, Yam! Look at this!â
When their eyes met, they both realized each wore a proud smile.
Titus fistbumped the grass beneath, excited. This was the first step.
-
They actually sat in a royal booth. Titus thought heâd have to disguise himself to sit in the stands, but the two were all for having enough space to move around. So they had a stand to the side of the arena, and Titus had a front row seat to the two lightly shoving her as they watched the match below, pressed up against the rails.
âIf we had a regular match now, Iâd so win,â Yamuraiha boasted, nudging Sharrkan. He flipped his head towards her, eyes screwing up.Â
âAre you assuming Iâm nothing without a metal vessel? My sword skill is still impeccable.â
âAh? But without a help from a Djinn, could it beat my magic?â
âDamn right, I could beat your magic only armed with a stone.â
âOh really?â
âYeah, really!â He flicked his vision away suddenly to the match below. âWhoa. Did-Did you see that jump? That oneâs incredible!â
She crossed her arms and turned her attention back to the match. âHmm . . Oh. Yes, that is impressive.â
They stood like that, gazes hardened and eyes trained on the fight below. After a minute, Yamu sighed and dropped her arms.
âWith or without a metal vessel, you are pretty good with a sword,â she mumbled.
Titus internally cheered as Sharrkan looked back at her, surprise on his face. The conversation was more light from there. Another score.
-
âHow did I get stuck playing matchmaker to the two most oblivious people in the world,â Titus groaned. âMarga, theyâre so in love but they canât see it in each other! What am I gonna do?â
Marga hummed in his lap, red pigtails swaying slightly. She twisted, poking Titus in the cheek, causing the other to flinch back. âSilly,â she pouted, cheeks inflated. âJust tell them.â
âIt . . â He sighed. âItâs not that easy.â
âThen Iâll tell them,â she told him, eyes lighting up. âOr, one of them. I wanna see the bubbles you mentioned that Miss Yamu can make! Iâll just tell her.â
Apparently it was that simple. Explained, that is.
-
Nope. It was that simple, regardless. Titus just didnât have a spine. Marga stood proudly beside him as he saw the two world leaders off, hands interlocked and looking just a bit more happy in each otherâs presence. Marga ran forward and the envoy seemed to tangle, Titus suddenly finding himself in a small crowd. A tug on his arm made him look up.
Yamuraiha stood in front of him, a smirk on her lips. âThank you,â she told him. âYouâre the reason weâre even together now.â
âWhat?â Titus was honestly baffled, but he played the part of innocence well. âWhy do you think I had anything to do with this?â
âWell . .â Â She released his sleeve, slightly moving back. âAs a magician, I know the bounds to my own magic. My bubble wouldnât just spout off a huge burst of magoi like that.â She winked. âBetter luck next time.â
And with that, she left the magi standing there, stunned, and left for her own country. Sphintus came up to him sometime later that day.
âSo I heard your master plan was taken over.â
He groaned, shoving his face into the nearest wall. âItâs not my fault Margaâs adorable enough to pull anything off! At least theyâre together now, right?â
âMhmm. This actually came in, for you.â He held up a scrap of parchment.
Titus hesitantly took it, unfolding it carefully. He blanched when he saw the writing.
The weddingâs gonna be in Reim too, okay? Please be a good host!

@ivoryrosewoodâs substitute gift to @perro-vago-draws
âMerry Christmas perro-vago-draws! I hope you enjoy thisâŚ! A Christmas Cake from the Fan Fan Baking Company, with little piggy magis rushing to enjoy it!â
âYou say what?!â Yamuraihaâs voice was heard throughout the palace, as the other generals have guessed that it was probably the usual arguments of Yamuraiha and Sharrkan.
Sharrkan and Yamuraiha continued to glare at each other before Sinbad had come in and went in between them to stop their fights. âSharrkan, Yam. Whatâs wrong this time?â
âThis⌠ThisâŚâ Yamuraiha, due to her frustration, couldnât find the right words to talk about her arguments with Sharrkan. âShe said that it was pointless in waving around a sword all day.â Sharrkan then said. âI mean, sheâs not different. She waves her wand around all day as well.â He added.
âSo, itâs still the same kind of argumentâŚâ Sinbad said with a smile, âAlright, alright. Why donât we stop the arguments for awhile. Weâll be having a maharajan later tonight â so help out with the preparations, okay?â
The two sighed before agreeing to their king, âYes, my Lord.â
.:..::..:.
The maharajan soon came and the two had avoided each other since Sinbad had stopped their argument, and both Alibaba and Aladdin noticed it. âWhat do you think happened?â Alibaba asked.
âJaâfar-san said that they had an argument earlier this morning and they havenât made up.â Aladdin said, before munching into a chicken leg. âWhy do you ask?â
âWell, itâs just that⌠Even when they fight, they would still talk to each other afterwards.â
Aladdin hummed in agreement, before looking at to where Sharrkan and Yamuraiha were. âHmâŚâ
.:..::..:.
Both Sharrkan and Yamuraiha sat together with the other generals, who had also noticed the distance between them. Pisti would often go ahead and try to involve the two of them into a conversation, but the two wouldnât talk in no more than a word or two. Soon, the other generals, aside from Jaâfar, had gotten drunk and soon, Sharrkan was soon left drunk as well.
âHey Yamuraiha~â the blue haired magician looked up from her glass, to see Sharrkan moving towards her. âWhat?â she said.
The boy then swiftly kissed her on the lips, making her blush deeply and the other people surrounding them stop from what they were doing to look at the scene before them. âEhehe.â He giddily pulled away from her, âSharrââ before she could say anything else, the boy fainted into her lap â shocking her.
âY-YamâŚâ Sinbad cautiously walked towards the girl. âAre youââ
Yamuraiha then realized what had happened, and that people had seen the event that had happened and shrieked in embarrassment, before flying away and leaving the unconscious Sharrkan in the party.
.:..::..:.
The following day, Sharrkan had entered Yamuraihaâs lab with a knock, âYa-Yamuraiha?â
âHuh? Oh, itâs you.â She said, before blushing as she remembered last nightâs events. âWhat?â
âAbout⌠Last nightâŚâ he said, lightly scratching his cheek, âSorry⌠About itâŚâ
Yamuraiha stopped what ever she was doing to look at Sharrkan, who had a light blush on his cheeks. âItâs⌠Itâs fine.â She said with her own blush. âSo⌠are we cool?â Sharrkan asked.
âYeah, I guess.â She said.
âAlright then⌠Well, see ya.â He was then about to walk out of the room, when Yamuraiha called him out. âHm?â Yamuraiha then kissed his cheek.
Sharrkan blushed, âE-Eh?â
âPayback. Well. Goodbye.â She said, slamming her door.
Sharrkan merely stared at the door before going to the courtyard for his training with Alibaba, but not without a big smile on his face.
Merry Christmas Symphoniclolita! I know you didnât want a holiday theme, so I tried to keep it light and silly! I wish it couldâve been even better, but I did my best! Happy wishes to you!Â
