Taking place in an alternate Gotham, a falling out between Barbara Gordon, Dinah Lance, and Helena Bertinelli has caused the dissolution of the Birds of Prey. They may have retired, but there’s always a new generation of heroes to take up the mantle.

Wendy Harris has operated as Proxy under Barbara’s tutelage for a year. Now handed the responsibility of Oracle, she’s plagued with self-doubt–can she really lead her own team?

Mia Dearden, Dinah’s foster daughter, becomes the Black Canary against her mentor’s wishes. Lacking any meta abilities, she uses a sonic device to replicate the canary cry.

Stephanie Brown, through her tenures as Spoiler and Batgirl, has always had a rocky relationship with the rest of the Bats. But when she executes the murderer of her boyfriend Tim Drake, she’s ostracized for good. She begs Wendy for a place on the team, where she can find redemption as Red Robin.

Eiko Hasigawa, like Helena Bertinelli, comes from a crime family. Helena resumes her role as head of the Bertinelli family, but Eiko wishes to honor the legacy of the Huntress. She is the oldest and most mature of the new Birds, but her lax code of killing marks her an outsider more often than not.

Cassandra Cain has been Batman’s partner Robin since she arrived in Gotham as a child. Not quite ready to replace Bruce as the Bat, but growing restless as the Girl Wonder, Cassandra strikes out as a new hero, Nightwing.
