It’s not a charity stream, it’s just a stream. He’s responding to comments. He does the PMA dance. He’s sitting there, doing his usual thing, wearing some sweatshirt or shirt that we’re all familiar with. Maybe the BERLIN sweater. Maybe something from Cloak. Either way, it’s a normal stream, just playing a game we’ve all seen before. Maybe it’s Fortnite. Maybe it’s Spider-Man. Maybe it’s something new.
Jack goes on break. A quick pee break, and the screen shifts to the AFK screen…the one with Sam, the one that Robin made. And then he comes back -and something about him looks a little different, but…ah well. Must be the camera. Like his hair isn’t quite the same as before, but he must have run his fingers through it. His sweatshirt is sitting a little differently, but he did just go off screen. The lighting has changed ever-so-slightly, but you’d only know if you compares the pre-break and post-break video side by side.
And things carry on. He’s playing the game again. And for a moment, things seem fine - then a glitch. Static. A bit of distortion. Jack looks over his shoulder, and there’s somebody there, a shadow, an outline, barely visible. But we all know. We’ve all seen it. The glow of the eyes, the shape of the knife. We know that shape.
And Anti comes to life, scaring Jack out of his chair, locking the door without touching the knob. They’re both in the room – but how is that possible? It’s a stream! He can’t – that’s not–
And things go wrong, go very very wrong. And maybe Henrik kicks down the door. Maybe Jackie saves the day. But it all happens on a stream and, good god, how did they do that?
A pre-recorded ego interaction, wearing the same shirt, looking almost the same, a video pulled up on the computer to play on the stream a few minutes after Jack “leaves the room”. It’s not live, but my god, Jack and Robin sure do their best to make sure it looks like it is.
And nobody sees it coming.
