what if a horse could make art?

inspired by the changeling action figure that lives on my desk... this is Mandible Aka Yellow Apple.

Changeling Chevalier kicked out of Chrysalis' hive around s4, for being bad at the whole 'warrior' and 'violence' thing.

roamed around in her banishment for a bit before ending up in Ponyville.

Never had to think up her own disguise before she showed up in Ponyville, didn't understand what cutie marks were for like a week.

Eventually ended up working as a laborer at Sweet Apple Acres because she's as big as Big Macy, and her red splodge of a fake cutie mark looked sort of like an apple.

She is VERY trans and VERY butch.

She likes girls, and she's normally overly confident to a fault, but as soon as a girl starts showing affection towards her or paying her compliments all her ego and bluster falls apart and she gets immediately flustered and stuttery.

has zero interest in reforming, very active in in Ponyville's lesbian scene.

this is explicitly and specifically self indulgent art representing something beautiful in my personal life so the off-model-ness is VERY on purpose. life is full of love and wonder.

what if celestia quit being an alicorn princess and fell in love with a travelling stage magician...

so this ship had a phase of popularity on tumblr a month or two ago bc of some art and text posts going around. very cute stuff.

this is inspired by that obvs, but also bc i used to self indulgently ship these two privately back in 2021, with trixie as a sort of self insert.

but now i identify with both characters really deeply, so as much as this is cute art its also like, some self indulgent self love from my perspective. my middle names are celestia and trixie for a reason lol.

i tried to try less and be less perfectionist on this, and i think i did okay. experimented with half tone shading but its way too light to show up on the dashboard, oh well!

oh yeah its also inspired by this:

in the fic, she drops the cozy and starts going by glow around the age of 17, as she grows out of the whole overly sweet and schmaltzy thing and stops putting all her energy into her facade that she uses to manipulate people.

also worth noting that this fic takes place in the human realm in EQG, so this is me ponifying a human character who is an AU version of a pony.

its a whole thing! also shes a unicorn bc its like, an ironic thematic thing.

this cozy glow grew out of her shitty behaviour before she lost the opportunity to do so, and never had the same chances to fuck over her own life that the pony cozy glow did, because she didnt really have access to any sort of power equivalent to the magic that pony cozy did.

so she grew older and grew out of the manipulation thing and learned to focus on healthier needs and wants and who she actually wanted to be, instead of who was useful for her to be.

so if she went to equestria, she'd be a unicorn with access to magic, to play off how pony cozy's lack of magic drove her to steal it, or something.

theres other stuff but like. spoilers, for a fic i havent finished or posted anywhere public.

3D modelling is really really really fun. texturing is a lot of hard work tho. but im like, excited and i think i can really like, get better at this stuff. editing gifs is a pain tho.

theres no lighting going on for the record thats just a texture. i feel like i learnt a lot making this lol.
