Sharing some stitching love today. First is a crochet granny square, just a bit of stash busting. Second is my lovely socks! Hand dyed yarn and the hedgerow pattern from Ravelry.
Facing some difficult and uncertain times after finding out I might be loosing my job. Desperately in need of a positive message I turned to my Happy Tarot deck. This is the first time I've done a big reading with these cards. I normally stick to smaller 3 card readings with this deck. I love these cards because they focus on the positive of each meaning and that's what I need right now. However, without the dark there is no light. It can be hard to get a balanced reading when the focus is all on the positive so it's useful to remember the traditional meaning of each card and compare this to the message of this deck to get a better understanding. In the oil burner is, bergamot, lemongrass and eucalyptus for clarity and a refreshing positive energy.
Been feeling in a funk so it's time to use the full moon to get to the bottom of this. I love using Happy Tarot, even the "negative" cards have a happy message. Feeling a lot better having gained some advice from these beauties.

Beautiful hike around the Dartington estate. So much to see and so many memories of my uni days. So nice to hear the noises of nature and the familiar ambiance from studying there 10 years ago.
Inspired by @buildingbooks I thought I would post some of my bookbinding projects. This first one is a coptic bound book with awesome travel themed paper around the signatures. I was so please with the chevron stitching.
Next is my rebound copy of the Deathly Hallows. I embroidered the symbol onto wool felt and made it into book cloth. I also added new end pages, headbands and bookmark ribbon.
The black and blue book is my first attempt at leather binding which I gave to my beloved for his birthday. Leather binding is pretty scary as there are so many ways you can mess it up. I don’t have any of the tools at home for leather work so I’ll be sticking with cloth and paper binding.
Lastly is my first ever case bound book made with my own book cloth. I have a lot of ideas for upcoming Christmas presents, including some nifty photo albums. Itching to get stitching!
First sock finished and second one started. I’m loving knitting with bent needles, makes things a little less fiddly and I find metal needles are a bit faster.
This is a free pattern from Raveley called Harris Tweed. Nice and easy pattern that makes a waffle like texture. I have no idea where the yarn is from, it’s been in the stash for 7 years!
