With his bank account depressingly sad, it was definitely time to pick up a shift at the animal shelter. His client today, the enthusiastic border collie Rosa. It was the male’s job to escort the dog through his usual walk route to rid her of all the pent up energy. Ryoji certainly enjoyed his job, but he had it pretty lucky. Animals were wonderful companions and the weather was lovely today.

But… Rosa just happened to be a bit too excited, and as the pair passed another male she jumped onto her hind legs to greet him. “Ack,” A gentle tug of the leash, Ryoji tried to calm the dog down.

But today, the dog wasn’t actually in much of a mood for walking. It left Daylen feeling kind of blue, so he decided to go on a walk by himself. Passing by all the normal spots would surely lift his mood up, right?

So far so good. The weather was lovely, the air was fresh and he could forget his troubles. Well, he could anyway until he was going by a teenager with a dog on the leash. It seemed the dog was very happy to see him; perhaps she could just smell Vincent on him.

But either way, the surprise would be greeted with a smile. Even if he did hope the dog would calm down, to spare her walker.

Alpha: How have you au’d your character to fit the setting?

Beta: Does your character live in Kairos or Palaria? Is there a reason for you choosing the place that you have? 

Gamma: In terms of regaining memories, what’s the one thing you can’t wait for your character to get back?

Delta: Is your character’s profession different than it was in canon? If so, what is it? 

Epsilon: Do you feel like your character is living a better life now that they’re au’d, or did they lead a better life in their original universe.

Zeta: Does your character have a specific place they like to spend their time at?

Eta: Where’s their least favorite place to go and the reason why they dislike going there?

Not that he was as creative when it came to his outfits as Merrill. She always had a great idea about what to do.

Before he could say anything more, arms wrapped him in a hug and he returned the favor, smiling at her. Daylen pulled away at the same time, also glad to see a familiar face.

Merrill was one of the only people Daylen could say had as much interest in the occult; even more. Frequent visits to the shop she worked at were always enlightening, if a little scary at times.

   Not that he cared much about the feelings of someone he met mere minutes ago. Any other, typical day he wouldn’t have cared either. Yet.. Here he was. A lightweight. Already feeling the buzz of the alcohol in his system. That usual hot-tempered attitude of Mista’s felt dulled, his nerves calmed.

But for all he knew, the slightly younger man was just bored like him. The darker parts of Vardos were but an unknown to him; the sheltering of his parents a help in some ways but a hindrance in others.

“Really? That’s a shame.” An honest answer; he rather liked peace and quiet. One of the things he loved about this island.

Of course the answer was seen as rude, but getting into a confrontation with someone possibly drunk at a party was not on his to-do list. Ever.

“But I guess everything changes. Admittedly, I never know as much about what’s happening as I’d like.” But he wasn’t here to go on about himself.

 “Yeah? Ya think so? Well, buddy, why don’t you..Eh, forget it.”  It could have been the influence of the alcohol in his system or the realization that he wasn’t dealing with someone from his line of ‘work’, but Mista’s words trailed off and he sighed. Dropping his defense, he uncrossed his arms and took another swig of the drink. 

The aspiring historian was hardly in any line of work similar to Mista, but from the look of this party a wide crowd had been gathered together.

So now he took a step back to give more space between them. But judging by the other man uncrossing his arms, that was probably unnecessary.

Being only a year older than the other man, he did not exactly think of it as a kids party. But really, he was here for a reason and it was not enjoyment.

Not drinking, the casually dressed party-goer had been standing near a cooler as the Italian approached.

“If you don’t like the crowd, you could always leave.” A shrug accompanied his words; the only reason he spoke to hand out advice.
