âheâd be so furious, youâre right. well, iâll come by when youâre open and meet him and the rest.â teddy grinned, pulling back his arms as instead offering maggie his arm. âa spa tent, though iâve just heard rumours. it sounds plausible but what in this world doesnât sound plausible, yâknow? letâs go explore, iâm just excited to see you. tell me whatâs new! how are you?â
âYouâre welcome any time! I trust you with them. More than I trust James, at least.â She joked, taking his arm. âYouâre right. Even a tent for freaking magical creatures at a festival exists, so anything can. What have you seen so far that has caught your eye, Teddy? God, Iâm excited to see you too! Whatâs new?â Maggie thought for a moment as they walked. âWell, Iâm moving back to Ardere, for starters. Had I already told you that? Or was it James I told? Anyway, that is what is going on. What are you up to, Teddy?â

âHe is hard to beat, which is what makes Max a very clever boy storming through all that competition.â Gently booping the dogâs nose, he then looked up at his cousin as a wicked grin came onto his face. âYouâre right, I probably would make the situation worse considering how loud I am. I donât think yelling at birds would make anything better. Iâm good at petting them when they donât want to fly away though.â He nodded assuringly, making sure that Maggie definitely knew that he was well-behaved enough to pet any creature he had in here later, despite how drunk he was probably going to get. âI WOULD get one but I feel like Newtie might eat it or think itâs a toy. Iâll have to stick to crying over yours.â Then his eyes lit up in delight and he gasped. âWait, really? PLEASE do, I miss having you around. I know everythingâs been a little shitâŚâ He waved his hand in the air and then dropped it. âBut I like seeing you all the time. Youâre the cool cousin but donât tell Vic I said that.â
âOh yeah, I was definitely right not to call you for help.â She laughed, imagining the chaos that would ensue. Not to say that sheâs opposed to a bit of chaos, but she is opposed to purposefully traumatizing her creatures. âFly away? Jamie, they poof away. They apparate when threatened. That was the problem, there was a sudden noise that was just far too close and I hadnât set up any charms yet to prevent it from really reaching them, or them getting out, and it was mayhem.â She told the story, eyes wild as she remembered the scene that she had to deal with earlier. âWell. Newtie should learn some manners. Maybe he needs another pet around?â Maggie grinned, turning her attention to Max. For some reason she felt a bit of discomfort talking about her move. He was just as excited as she was hoping, but there was something there. There was a reason why she hadnât been in Ardere for a while in the first place. âI miss being around. Thatâs why Iâm coming back. Different flat, of course. Youâre right, things have been... shit... But life has to keep going, Jamie. Oh, I absolutely will tell her that. Iâm honored.â
molly was enjoying herself at the festival. a lot of the events the town held were a little too much for her liking, whereas this one was about having fun and making memories. she admired the bands wholeheartedly (seeing as she had no musical talents), but what she most looked forward to was the infamous dessert stand. the girl smiled taking a small bite of the dessert she had gotten from the stand. âthese deserve more credit i swear.âÂ
âOooh, what in the world is that?â Maggie had so much more to learn about this festival than she thought. She figured she was making solid progress, with it being her first time here, but the fact that this had escaped her so far was a downright shame. âWhat other foods have I been missing out on?!â
finnick was so far enjoying his very first ignis festival. heâd even gone as far as deciding to camp. of course when he realised how difficult setting up any sort of tent could be⌠he abandoned that hope and got a hotel room. now, he knew and though he tried to put the thought away, his heart still yearned to see her. in fact that was probably the whole reason heâd decided to attend this year. finn could pretend the yaxknockâs had become his favourite band in the last month, but in reality it was in hopes maggie would be there. yeah, he knew that was fucked up but he was⌠he was so screwed and his heart hurt, even if he broke hers, he broke his own too. love didnât disappear over night, love for maggie could never just disappear.Â
still, that wasnât on his mind presently as he roamed the bright streets, it was the sound of familiar paws hitting the gravel before he was jumped on by a big goldendoodle, who wasted no time in licking his cheeks. âmax! oh you silly oaf, iâve missed you too.â finn laughed and max quickly went to retrieve his staff for finn to stand back up. âalright bud, letâs get you back,â he said softly, rubbing maxâs forehead and let him lead the way. just a short walk later, max went through the tent and finn was slow to follow.Â
finn like the seconds where she hadnât seen him, where she was just talking like they were strangers, or themselves again. fuck, he missed her so much. her voice tugged at his heart strings and he reached into pocket to pull out a notebook. he was always sentimental, he just had to be because life was fleeting. every single time finnick had bought maggie flowers, from the first moment heâd met her, heâd pressed a flower into the pages of this notebook. heâd never let her seen it, it was going to be her something blue for their wedding⌠obviously thatâd never happen. he almost put it back in his coat but instead he left it out for her to find, hopefully when heâd leave.Â
he turned to leave, almost making it to the exit when max tugged on his leg again, âmax, down. stop it, boy. this isnât fair to herâ maggs.â his eyes widened as he saw he met her gaze and his heart stopped beating. âi was just leaving, maggie. max dragged me here.â he gestured to the dog that had already run off to the back. âi didnât think youâd have a tent⌠or iâm sorry.â
Everything felt foreign, from the grass beneath her feet to the feeling of working once again. Something in Maggie told her that she wasnât supposed to be here, that none of this was supposed to be the way it was. She wasnât supposed to be in England setting up a tent for a festival she once desired to simply attend, and she wasnât supposed to be staying in a room alone with only her dog and overly attached knarl. She wasnât supposed to be heartbroken and lost and she definitely wasnât supposed to feel like she wasnât supposed to be here. But she did, and there was so little she could do than keep going. Mercer helped her keep sane, or more aptly, busy, and for that she was grateful.Â
Suddenly he was in front of her again and there was no thought in her mind, only a feeling she could not explain. Something akin to dread, or fear, or maybe a relief so deep she could barely make sense of it. There was little she loved more than seeing him walk through the door, and the Maggieâs feet seemed to wobble as she slowly approached the front of the tent, her sight entirely stuck on Finnick. âNo... youâre okay. He clearly wants to see you. Or... wanted. I guess.â Her voice came out weaker than she had planned, weaker than she hoped. Weak was the last way she wanted to appear to him, but she was never good at pretending. Not with Finnick. But she tried to best to collect herself, forcing her eyes away and inhaling sharply. Maggie felt Max brush against her as he trotted off. She would have to give him a firm talking to later for it. It was almost as if he planned the whole thing and his work there was done. âDonât apologize, itâs okay... Yeah, I started working independently again and this seemed like a good idea. Or, almost independently. I have a partner now.â
He was right, this wasnât fair. She missed him more than she had ever missed any one or any thing and for him to show up like this was definitely not fair. She could be angry, Merlin knows she had been angry for months. But there was no energy left for anger. Not as he stood innocently in front of her, staff in hand, looking just as breathtaking as he always had. She wondered how he felt, if today his pain was worse than usual or if he was having a moment of reprieve. She wondered if the festival was taking his mind of off it. She wondered if he had moved on, if all he felt now was regret for crossing paths as he was moving gladly along with his life without her. She wondered if this hurt him too.Â
A laugh fell from his lips as his fingers pet through the dogâs fur and he gave his forehead a little kiss before looking back up at his cousin. âOf course you come second to the dog. Everyone in the world does, including Teddy. No human could ever compete with you.â He said the last past to Max and giggled once again. âThat sounds fun, you should have called me. I would have helped you chase some birds around⌠or made the situation worse, actually. Bet Max solved everything, heâs super smart like that.â He finally stood himself up and then swung his arms around Maggie, a happy sound coming from his lips. âI feel like you need to come and see me at least weekly with various different animals. Is it because I cry whenever I see them?â
Her familyâs love for her dog brought her a joy she could barely explain as anything less than shining, and it showed in the grin on her face. âNot even Teddy! Heâs hard to beat, Iâm sure.â She chuckled. âJamie, Iâd be worried for the safety of my birds. They react to perceived danger, and you might just make it worse.â She was joking, of course, but considering he might not actually know how to deal with them properly, perhaps she wasnât. âHow about you come visit me, hmm? No, although Peter was a bit disturbed by your blubbering last time you saw him. James, you should really get your own bowtruckle. I havenât quite told anyone yet, but Iâm in the process of moving back to Ardere. Semi-permanently, at least. So you can come be with my creatures whenever you please.â

âhi maggs!â teddy grinned and extended his arms out to hug her. âhowâs your tent doing? did you bring peter? please tell me you did.â he asked excitedly, looking back at her tent before down at maggie again. âdrink or few sounds amazing, i donât know if that was an invite but i took it as one anyway. no, youâve definitely got the right idea. i heard talk of a spa tent, but yes, most people drink and consume a butt load of sugar. letâs go explore, shall we? or were you heading off to do something else?â
Maggie beamed, accepting the embrace. âOh, I surely did! Heâs with the rest in the tent. Imagine how angry heâd be if I left him at home. Wouldnât even look at me for a week, I reckon.â Peter was a tricky boy, always wanting to be at the center of the action. And he particularly liked Teddy for some reason. Maggie wouldnât be surprised if he went home with him instead of her at the end of this. âOf course itâs an invite! That sounds just perfect right now. A spa tent? ooooh, now that is nice.â She closed her eyes and exhaled thinking about it. âExploration was the plan!â
A grin brightened his face the moment he stepped into the tent. Of course the cutest golden doodle gave him away, if his footsteps hadnât first. Immediately he knelt down to great Max, petting and giving the sweet dog attention. âThatâs okay, you know Iâd be offended if he didnât remember me.â He would have pouted and taken personal offense. âLooks like itâll be busy.â He mused once he stood upright. There were already a number of people out and about, even though a bunch of tents were still in the process of setting up.
âOh, I guess my eyesight isnât quite what it used to be.â Maggie grinned, carrying her pile of books to the front to greet her friend. âI hadnât realized it was you. Oh, that doesnât surprise me in the slightest. Do you think theyâll like our diriclaws? Goodness, I wish we couldâve brought the mooncalves. People would love to see their dances.â If their tent was successful, Maggie would have to talk with the higherups about making sure the festival happened during a full moon. âHave you reinforced the silencing charm on the fwoopers?â
Naturally, James was being nosy and poking around all of the tents before they were set up. He was curious and was too excited about this festival to WAIT another day so he took it upon himself to have an explore, excitedly bouncing from place to place as he wandered the festival grounds. It was his favourite place on earth and this was pretty much all he looked forward to each year so when it finally came around, he practically turned into an excitable puppy. He immediately knew heâd stumbled across his cousinâs tent when he peeped through the door and a giant dog came bundling towards him. Maybe Max could sense the dog inside of him but they were always excited to see each other and he laughed as his face was licked. âDonât worry, Iâm not here to see you, only Max.â He pet his head and sat cross-legged on the ground, grinning between them both. âHow is the set up going?â
Maggie made her way to the front of the tent and rested her pile of puffskein care guides on the front-most display. âOh, of course. Itâs always about the dog, isnât it? Youâd think I would be used to the fact that Iâm the lesser one in this household.â Maggie, with a grin, ruffled her younger cousinâs hair and sighed. âDonât tell the higher ups, but I had a few mishaps. Rebellious diriclaw related mishaps. But Max and I got it all figured out! Didnât we, buddy?â Max panted, clearly relishing in the praise. âWell get up, I expect a hug. Itâs been a while.â Maggie had been caught up in her work for far too long, and seeing James was a reminder that she must reemerge every once in a while.Â
teddy rarely left the house and if he did, he wasnât often alone, or he was going to work. sure, he hadnât arrived to the festival alone but he wasnât about to spend every waking hour with his best friend. there was only so much he could handle. he was really focusing on relaxing this time around, itâd been a crazy stressful year and everyone was antsy about the festival. teddy took in a deep breath and instead of just smiling at someone, he struck up a conversation. âiâm really going to try and relax this time. try to make a holiday out of it, yâknow? whatâs your idea of relaxation?âÂ
Maggie had finally finished setting up her tent, habitats and all, and she was looking for a moment of a break. She enjoyed the focus in her work, but she was curious about the variety of stalls and sights to see at the festival. Of all of the people she could run into as she left her tent, Teddy was definitely a welcomed meeting. Any of her family would be, of course. âTeddy. Goodness, it is good to see you.â It had been far too long since she had seen most of the special people in her life. Perhaps the festival would be a good thing after all. âYou deserve a holiday. My idea of relaxation? I think Iâll need a drink or a few, although not required, and some exploration. At least, thatâs what I believe relaxation will look like here. Am I far off? Itâs my first time, so maybe Iâve got the wrong idea.â
Upon arriving at Ignis, Maggieâs mood was tinged with the dread that came with regret. The idea of immersing herself in such a breadth of the magic community stressed her out. Maggie had been so isolated outside of her work for the last handful of months, and she had gotten comfortable letting go of her extroversion. But Maggie had already committed to her presence there in the form of a stall for her creatures. Not selling them, of course, but as a high end form of show-and-tell. She was excited for that at least, being able to share her passion with the magical world. So she would dive right into her work there, too, and put on a face brave enough to do it. Maggie had spent most of her time preparing her tent, sorting resources on her creatures to be available for guests and setting up the habitats for her creatures to feel comfortable and free, as they should at any given time. She was sorting when she noticed the movement, someone entering her tent she assumed, in the corner of her vision.âGood afternoon! Iâm still setting up and I wonât be bringing out my creatures for a bit, but youâre more than welcome to peruse the materials!â Maggie called from the back of the tent, keeping her eyes mostly on sorting. Max, her fluffy ever-present companion, was far more outgoing than she, and went straight towards their guest. âOh, sorry. Mind the dog. He loves people too much for his own good sometimes.â

Magdalena is the only child (subject to change?) of Charlie Weasley! While in Romania, he fell in love with her mother Dumitra, a muggle, and Magda was a result of their unconventional relationship. Charlie traveled often for work, and Dumitra was more than happy to go with to learn and explore on her own, but also didnât have much trouble staying home and letting him do his own thing. They never officially got married, just had the party, but their trust and love for each other is infinite.
When Maggie was born, they spent far more time in Romania, where they raised her into an eccentric lifestyle. She remembers helping her dad take care of creatures from the minute she could walk on her own, and eventually, she started traveling with him when heâd work.
Her mother insisted on her getting a proper muggle education to a certain point, and she kind of did, but eventually, at age 12 or so, she became her dadâs full-time assistant.
She didnât go to a magical school, but Charlie made sure that she learned everything she needed to about magic and had the experiences that she should. This includes going all the way to ollivanders at 11 to get a wand.
Charlie wanted to make sure that Maggie grew up knowing her family and would come back to England every once in a while, so I donât imagine her having been completely isolated from her cousins at all. She doesnât know them nearly as much as they know each other, of course, but I would definitely like a relationship there.
She is a bit more solitary of a person. Having grown up traveling often and not spending much time developing relationships with other kids, sheâs more than happy in her own world still, with her creatures and her work. She does enjoy human company, though! Very much.
At 21, she moved to England. She continued to travel often for both work as a magizoologist and for fun, like Quidditch world cups and muggle football games and to see loved ones.
She met Finnick aka Marâs character a bit before then, and when she moved to England they started dating and were very deeply in love. They dated for five years, even got engaged, and then he suffered a terrible accident that left him unable to continue his career in quidditch, as youâll read from Mar, and he became very depressed and left her AND the dog, which left her heartbroken as hell and sheâs still definitely not okay. It hasnât been long and boy does her heart need time to heal. This girl is internally a MESS
For the last academic year, Maggie was teaching CoMC at Hogwarts. She wanted to take a job that required her to stay home so she could take care of Finnick. When he left her, she decided to quit, for she had no reason to state in one place any longer. Sheâs back to traveling often, rescuing, researching, and taking care of creatures. Itâs the one thing she can do that can keep her mind off of the fact that her life feels like itâs falling apart.
Known for being quite proficient on a drum
Okay that is what I have so far! Most of it, at least. Like this if you wanna plot because I definitely want to plot her! There is so much freedom in her relationship with her cousins as well so lets get creative!!
