“Fix – heal. Maybe that wasn’t the right word but I think you know what I mean.” Vienna shrugged it off dismissively though she forced out a smile. “I don’t think nuns are meant to be particularly sexy in the first place so… I’m not even sure about that compliment.” She laughed a little awkwardly.

“I do but I also know that you should be giving this body of yours some credit. You carried a whole human being.” Maggie laughed as well at the comment. “Clearly you have no seen enough porn, Vienna, to say that a nun can’t be sexy.”

Colin’s brow rose at her little question. In truth he didn’t know how to feel with her hand on him like that here. He hated to think he was keeping two women from each other, but the thought of Rae seeing them close made his chest tighten. He slipped out of his thoughts when she finished, laughing along with her. “That’s because you’re really, really old,” he nodded, crooked little smile up the corner of his lips. “I could give you some tricks on how to stay awake.”

“Is that what this is?” Maggie asked with a hopeless sigh. Her fingers played with the fabric of his shirt mindlessly. Every time she was with Colin it felt like she breathed a bit easier. “Being an old man for so many years, I bet you have all the wisdom in the world that I can learn from. So please, teach me your ways.”

Jarret glanced around the room before returning his eyes to Maggie. "I’m fairly certain I’d have more fun on a business call than playing any of these kid games.”

“That is because you haven’t played any games with me.” Maggie smiled, tucking his phone in her bralette. Purposefully showing off the sheer lace

“I don’t see you catching flies with your open mouth so I think you’re still doing one better than them.”

“Oh I made sure to wipe the drool from my mouth before coming over here.”

“I’ve been avoiding you,” he joked with a flat expression, his arm slipping around to drape over her shoulder. “But now you found me and I have to act like I like you,” he groaned.

Her hand reached for his hand that lay over her shoulder, fingers entangling. It was always easy to be comfortable with him and the drinks in her system made her even more relaxed. “So either you have been acting for years or you are lying to me now... Which is it?”

“I feel as bad as one of the guys ogling you in that,” she gestured to the lingerie. 

“There you are,” she practically fell on his lap when she went to sit next to him. “I have missed you.”

“I know you have a joint on you. I won’t lecture you if you share.”

“Can I confess something to you?” She leaned in, hand on his chest pretending to be flirty. “I’m already really tired,” the act broke as a smile a little pathetic laugh broke through.
