PHOTOGRAPHY FOUNDATIONS: Week 1
PHOTOGRAPHY FOUNDATIONS - Week 1:
Intro to the darkroom - creating a greyscale
These three rings are hand made using the wax carving and casting method.
They are a continuation from my Kosciusko pin as when they are stacked they create the Kosciusko mountain range.
They have been cast in brass.
This unique textile work looks at lace in contemporary context. I have created this piece using hand embroidery on soluble fabric.
The work itself is binary coding which I believe to be a modern form of lace as it also requires and equal emphasis on the positives and negatives. The work itself spells out “light, dark, ones and zeros”.
Two examples of stick pins made for jewellery assessments.
The first was more of a test piece which uses techniques such as annealing, soldering, hand rolling, filing, and finishing to create a simple Saturn pin.
The second again uses annealing, soldering, sweat soldering, filing and finishing. This pin portrays the Kosciusko mountain range and explores ideas of large landscapes having the ability to ground us.
Indian inspired scarf made for a textiles assessment.
I used blackberries for a natural dye, block printing, beading, hand embroidery, and painting to embellish the linen scarf.
