Going by the character arcs established in the light novel, Lance is the type who will tell you everything is fine when everything is, in fact, not fine, and then have you rest in complacency.

Whereas Balan is the type to tell you everything is not fine, and sometimes a little harshly, but then prompt you towards the necessary action to make things fine again.

Gotta love these inversions, man.

Back in 2020, when the official BWW website went live, there was a brief intro that would play before you entered the full site. The English intro merely contained words that appeared against an elaborate theatre background, but the Japanese intro was set to music...and was narrated by a deeply compelling voiceover. (insert fangirl fainting spells here) We'd later learn that this was none other than the man who would be Balan's official voice actor, Kenichi Suzumura, which led a number of us to wonder if this was Balan himself narrating the introduction.

Of course, then the opening movie was revealed, and this soft, mysterious voice was nowhere to be found, as Balan was shown to have a boisterous, booming showman's voice instead. But one can't help but wonder if this particular voice belongs to the side of Balan that we don't get to see right away...

I feel kind of bad bc I used to be like super duper active in this fanbase when it was basically on the verge of death and now that BWW is thriving as much as it can, I don’t really have the energy to do much for you all.

It upsets me bc I had this whole slowburn fic planned that was basically a test run to see if I could actually write a novel. But my notes and my whole fist draft corrupted and I have to do everything from scratch.

I guess I feel kind of like I’m about to succumb to negativity. The despair of losing my progress is crushing me, and my hands hurt so bad. I wonder what my boss fight would be like?

Not to roleplay being an old man reminiscing on his life, but I really am touched by this community. I am sure the others who have been here since the beginning will understand, too. This community has genuinely been among the most tender, welcoming communities I’ve ever been in. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a single mean remark from anyone. Nothing but complete and utter support.
